New Year's Eve
Sometimes I thought I saw her
But it was someone else
The pain of my love
Had made me sick I could not
Eat or sleep
I had fallen into apathy didn’t shave or

I wondered if it would ever come.

At first just a drizzle, to usher the fall
The season of change is now a downpour

I don't mind it,
I've changed too.

Letting go is liberating
So I'll watch the raindrops
As they fill my world with beats
Syncopating the freedom in my heart.

We're only getting older
and the air's just getting colder,
but we march shoulder to shoulder
into what our lives may bring.

We're only getting younger,
with new, incessant hunger;
and now we start to wonder
of what our lives may bring.

When I look in the mirror
I dont see me
I see her.
The me I loved is gone and she is here
to stay.

Rhythm is a funny thing
Don't you think?
We move and sing to it
It's all set perfectly together

But why follow it?
Why not make your own path
Or music for rhythm is anything
Make a beat and move your feet

For rhythm is easy as can be
