Her eyes speak
the truest words
never uttered
They tell of the ocean
on a lonely shore
Of salt marsh days
and windswept dunes
And love among the ruins
Her habit worn
vow unbroken to the night
She smiles a wanton wish
of summer days
and a fair young boy
among the glades
She sighs
her dreams away
and polishes again
the bare stone floor.

It's not a matter of right or wrong
Sideways glances push me off my straight and narrow path
Keep them happy
Let them see
The person they wish you to be
Someone less like me
Some may say I'm not a saint
Then again, I never claimed to be
Leave you to your conclusions
Your opinion is fine by me
Give too much
Take too little
Ask for nothing
And over supply the beggars hands
With everything I have
It should be reason enough
For them to let me alone
With the choices I'm free to make.
I don't count my blessings
In time they'll be taken away.
I let the **** of my endeavors ooze out of my mental cracks
Keep my eyes forward
Never look back
Perhaps the road I'm leaving behind
Will help me define
The steps I've taken from time to time
Just because I've let it slide
Doesn't mean I've forgotten every ride
Of every individual thought that wasn't mine.
I'll give you your chance to shine
Even if it's my life that's on the line.
My skin is tougher than you'd like to think
Why do you think I've been able to sink?
Making each step closer with you to the brink
Talking sense to senseless people
Make notions and attempts
I fail myself and them
Shameless in the life I command
I get to play the villain and the friend.
I surround myself with weaker types
For that'll make me stronger by default.
Next to one stronger than I
Means I cannot compare my faults
To their faultless standard.
And who needs that kind of pressure?
My apologies leave a dry throat with a sting
Another and another fall from a limp jaw
Another from pale lips
And again from bleeding wrists
My apologies are written in blood
And spilling from one last kiss
Soaking into your skin
Sinking through the surface
And my apologies burst from my skull  as the bullet shatters my bone
And regret splatters across the wall
Written in blood is nothing but
**"I'm sorry"
Are we ever happy with
Mother Nature?

The Autumn leaves
So many
just fell off the tree,
With No color...
Color is what Autumn is all about
Mother Nature...
OR
What! It's 90 degrees out, this is fall,
When the weather should start to turn cold.
And you start a fire in the fire pit
Smell the Autumn leaves burning?
But no we are sitting here in shorts
Mother Nature...

Are we ever Happy with
Mother Nature?

Winter, oh my what a winter.
Beautiful Crystals of sparkly snow..
Lots of sparkly snow..
Schools closed..
Level three...
So cold...
Snow so deep...
OR
What a warm winter,
Please Mother Nature,
Send us some snow...
This is winter Mother Nature,
I want to make
Snow angels...

Are we ever happy with
Mother Nature?

Sunshine, thanks Mother Nature.
The buds on the trees
Are starting to pop.
The smell of the lilacs
Drifting through the air.
Spring has sprung...
OR
It was a bad winter,
Lost my rose bush.
The trees are late to bloom...
Spring, Mother Nature
Where is spring...

Are we ever happy with
Mother Nature ?

It's Summer time,
When the living is easy.
So Hot....
So much rain...
Scorched flowers
To Hot...

OR

It's The
Lazy, Hazy, crazy
Days of summer.
But it been so cold,
No rain,
Dried up brown grass.
Water bill goes up.

Are we ever happy with
Mother Nature?
To hot, to cold...
But that's Nature
I'm told...
And
Mother has nothing to do with it.
For years we complain about the weather. But the storms that have been going around the World, make me grateful for what I get...to hot, to cold...so what.

A heart waits

While sifting through the questions
piled high in a mountain of doubt,
reaching heights beyond belief
and scraping ceilings of torment

A heart waits…

Now tiring quickly, loosing strength,
finding the walk longer than you expected
Closing one eye to find the other does not see
and falling to dark corners of fear

A heart waits…

As volume amasses upon weakened shoulders,
and pain breaches the avenue
of store front sale signs
on locked door close outs

A heart waits…

When it all seems too much,
memos become lists of forever paper,
words scratched in blood ink
of empty pens spilling

A heart waits…

If you have found that point
where your mind says no more
and you feel that nothing will ever be enough,
please remember…

A heart waits…and that heart is mine
