A bookkeeper once told me:
If it is possible in my entirely mortal capacity
to read as much books as I can, I'll do so

For who else will listen to the hearts and minds
of storytellers, truth seekers and prophets?

Who else will turn the pages
of unopened, uncharted books?

Who else will live in the worlds
and fulfill the hopes of those who made them?

Who will seize the magic of words and spin them
into a believable reality?

Who will?

Who will?

And very suddenly
as I looked into this old soul with shaking fingers
soft and wrinkled creases in his face,

it's as if his dream
transcended and became mine, as well
I once went to a bookstore and felt extremely sad that one day my old friends will become a part of history like they never really happened

If there was one thing that the Bard was correct about,
it was that Hero had fallen into a pit of ink,
she was stained; the blackness of words tainting her skin,
with the words that didn't belong to her.
They didn't belong, but they stayed, her accusations of unfaithfulness
didn't fray, because the thing about words is that
they can stick, they're faithful, even if they don't fit,
and that they did, for the rest of her life,
[which was ten minutes, but even in her right]
people thought she was a stale, a grimance,
and the only way to escape her wanton rep-u
was to die a sorrowful death and rebirth,
as pure as a baby's breath and mirth
you gotta love 'speare, don't you?

being dead inside is a paradox.
a contradiction. polar opposites.
you feel nothing at all, but at the same time you're feeling something.
there are no intense emotions yet, feeling so dead inside is an intense emotion in itself.
you're comforted by the fact that you won't feel any bad emotions but
at the same time, you're dissatisfied because you won't feel any good emotions either.
being dead inside is great when your lover leaves you, when your friend dies, when everything comes crumbling down at once ... because you won't feel it as much.
being dead inside is terrible when your lover tries to kiss you, when your friend invites you on a vacation, when everything starts coming together ... because you won't feel it as much either.
