and
i don't know
if this is me
just overreacting,
but
the only reason it scares me
when the wind causes my bedroom door to slam shut,
is because
i'm deeply afraid
that
i'll get used to the sound of people leaving.
I'm not okay... But it's okay

Because when I put that blunt to my lips I'm okay

And when I put that blade to my wrist I'm okay
Memories
Broken memories
Lifeless before me.
I don't remember them.

Imagine
Not being able
To remember who you are
Your mind
Slowly falling apart.

I try I try
Piecing together
Memories
Strange places
My family
Strangers in minutes

Friends,
Nameless faces.

My mind won't go
to sleep
These faded lights
What remains
Within me.

Imagine,
Not being able
to form a sentence.
Unable to dress yourself.

Memories
Sweet memories
Foreign places.

**** it who am I?!

Faded lights,
I can not see
I don't want
To be alone.

Please please
Don't be angry
Stay with me
I can't fight alone

Help me
Stay with me.
Don't let me go
I need you
Further still
Heat laced with wet silk
Lassoing isn't so easy
With hair forever unkempt and breezy
Reckless, careless, tossed to the wind
I close my eyes only to rise and fight again
Broken through the quakes, the rubble
I've got moonshine veins
Laughter like bubbles
I wrap you soft and sweet spun sugar boy
Only to fall away, this run hiding toy
You put far too much into my hints and clues
I'll be your heartbreak if you'll be my muse
A deal is a deal, sing it soft, dance slow
I want to hear it all go down
I want to be front row

and i guess i'm just asking,
if all the things you said to yourself, appeared on your body,
would you still be beautiful?
The mind commits suicide long before the body does

"911 what's your emergency?"

"SHE'S DEAD! SHE'S DEAD! I CAN SEE IT IN HER EYES. HER HEART BROKE AND I EVEN CUT MY FOOT ON THE SHARDS."

"I'm going to need you to slow down ma'm. Now tell me, who is it that's dead?"*

"ME!"

(hangs up the phone)

*"Ma'm. Ma'm, is anybody there?"

but how sad the rain must be.

an entire lifetime spent just falling.

WHAT IF I TOLD YOU HOW SCARED SHE IS. WHAT IF I TOLD YOU HOW SHE WATCHES THE WAY SHE WALKS, BECAUSE THE LAST TIME SHE FELL IN LOVE, SHE HIT THE GROUND. AND SHE WOULD OFFER HIM HER HEART BUT IT'S BEEN EATEN AT AND STORED IN A DOGGY BAG AROUND A CORNER WITHIN HER CHEST - AND SHE CANNOT HELP BUT ALWAYS FEEL LEFTOVER. WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THAT SHE'S SCARED OF FEELING.
BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FEEL HER BACK.
Young men in France would clamber to that call,
To drink their fill of bottles filled with wine;
They lined them up and shot them on the wall.

Sat huddled in small cafes in the fall,
When news of war came creeping down the vine,
Young men in France would clamber to that call.

Their basic training taught them how to sprawl,
As target dummies waited in a line;
They lined them up and shot them on the wall.

They marched to battle, lean and fit and tall,
And when the whistles blew to give the sign,
Young men in France would clamber to that call.

In no-mans-land, their charge became a crawl,
And in the mud they cursed the German swine;
They lined them up and shot them on the wall.

The Germans countered, swiftly taking all
The captured and the wounded to a mine;
Young men in France would clamber to that call:
They lined them up and shot them on the wall.
