He was her knight in shining armor.
She was his Lady Hope,
His one true love.
They ended up happily ever after
In this fairytale he wrote.

I found their fairytale,
Their love written down
Beer-stained,
Wrinkled
On the ground.
Beauty's not the rose,
nor is it the red,
Beauty is the dew drop
that kisses it's sweet head.

Beauty's not the maiden,
or the knight in shining armor,
Beauty is the love
the two together harbor.

Beauty's not a thing,
Beauty's not an it,
Beauty's not a seraph,
because Beauty simply is.

Piano keys clang like breaking swords in dissonance,
Their vibrations transcends my sleep,
I lie awake parading the past in the moonlight,
My shining armor crumbled to rust like dying kingdoms,
All the dragons chased me away,
Because my youth was spent,
I warn you,
There is no hope for a recluse
Bits of my heart scatter upon the floor while I
Run from razorblade rain that rips into me.
On and on I run but I can’t get dry.  A
Knight in shining armor races past me to another and
Ever after passes me by.
Nothing is right in my fairy tale.

It's all well and good
to sit and wait for your
knight in shining armor

Passing up all who
don't meet your
particular standards

However,
It might be good to keep in mind
that most men don't own horses
We don't generally have suits of armor, either...

I'd love to be your hero
Your knight in shining armor
To take all your pain away

*I'd love to be your damsel in distress
Your Lois Lane, Daphne Blake
Because you're my Clark Kent, my Fred Jones
You're my everything
And, thanks to you, there is no pain
You were my knight and shining armor you rescued me from myself.
You helped me get through the pain and the sorrow.
And perhaps that's why I love you.
Though there are many reasons.
I always knew I'd end up loving you.
I saw it coming I gave you a fair warning and you ignored it.
I tried to stop but the memories are still there.
How we hugged,how we kissed.
How we laughed and smiled.
How we stared at one another.
How we loved each other.
You were my knight and shining armor.
And somewhere along the line your battle sword was sent soaring through my heart...Breaking it into Millions of little piece.
You were my night in shining armor now you no longer hold that honor...
At this point,
I'm probably
Not worth
The effort.

Armor old,
Armor untouched,
Armor tarnished
By age and weather.

At this point,
I'm probably not even worth
The effort to acknowledge.
They all want a knight
In shining armor,
But only until it turns black.

They all want to be saved,
But they never think twice
Of their savior.

That's fine.
When armor,
Tarnished,
Turns to rust,
All their worries
Will be dust.

At that point
I definitely
Won't be
Worth the effort.
