It occurs at midnight
When the world is dark
And quiet
All you can hear is your own
Sincere weep for escape

But the truth is
That once you have been
Held ahold by the night
There is no way back
When the alluring effect
Consumes your mind

Can anyone really win?
Does anyone actually try?

the wind whispers pain
across my life's cold wasteland
grinding me to dust
If love was time, I would stop it right here
To keep it from going forward, to keep it from going back
For tomorrow is uncertain and yesterday is already known
I will stick with what's in front of me
You and me alone

If love was the stars, I'll only look at one
To brighten when its day
To warm me up when its night

If love was you
I'll stop right there and fall for you
you were toffee to my teeth
initially tasted so sweet
soon sickly, twisted and knotted
to my soul you
stuck and rotted
Age
A lifetime of aging
A head full of knowledge
A heart heavy with regrets

Time cannot be slowed
Knowledge is never saturated
With time the heart forgets
Hope
I’ve been looking at the pavement lately
Too scared to look beyond
Too frightened of scaring the future
By bringing my past along
