Me
Something that only other poets will understand.

close your eyes babe
what do you see?
a starry night or a porcelain sky?
is it the shade of navy you love?
i closed my eyes and i saw the world grabbing me gently, pulling me tight and close,
while it whispers sweet nothing in my ear
i envision a love that is endless,
a heart so large that it overflows,
and a passion that even fruits envy.
so tell me darling,
have you a dream to sell me?

gracie
when you exhale,
your breath nibbles my ear
and draws blood.
time drips like honey
and drags me backwards
the air is golden and heavy
and i am suffocating
i cannot breathe
i cannot breathe
i cannot breathe.
i.b.
i wrote this on my birthday last year and finally got around to editing it

But we do look back
Don’t we?
I miss the ache I felt then
Nothing like the ache I feel now.
Can you replace my bones with scars?

I can't top Simonides
I won't even try
But, blue and stars
Are always on my mind
If I could lie
Upon
A bed of soft, wet grass
And dream, and think of what is to come next,
I would do this every night
From the pale setting of the sun
To the soft moon's rise
Life would be easy
And I'd quit thinking
Of my sorrowful, possible demise.

Your third eye is closed,
Shut by the constant
Wave of conformity
thrashing around you.

Force not,
the coming of the ink.

Judge not,
what you feel and think.

Then put nib to paper
and make your mark.

Let what flows
be brazen and stark.

Into the Sun

Walk,
as far as these feet will take me.
Moving with deliberateness,
laden with calculated purpose.

And knowing that every time each foot
successfully meets the earth,
I would always be somewhere new.

Each step would feel perhaps
unfamiliar ground,
shed new light, see fresh faces
and experience different days.

As long as I stay loyal to the course...

Always moving...
Walking,

into the sun.
these bones trap my soul, like
a bird in a cage it longs to be set free, from
all of the pain and the misery, it
longs to soar into the sky and into the sun, to
kiss the clouds and feel the light, but yet
flesh and bone reject its request for freedom, I wonder
if it will ever escape this labyrinth of suffering.
