To me you are,
The first drop of snow on winter's day,
The warm sun shining on my face,
The beauty of the leaves blowing in the autumn wind,
The first daffodil in springtime.
You are the day, you are the night.
You light up my soul,
By just being you.

Your friendship
has calmed the storm that ravaged inside.
Your love
has extinguished the fire in my head.
Your laughter
has evaporated the tears in my eyes.
All that remains is calmness
Thankyou.

Now I’m gone
Don’t question why,
don’t think what you could to change me.
I had to go,
the monster came and took me away.
For I could no longer fight him
and the pain he brought me.
Your love helped me through the darkest of days
and the longest of nights.
Just know this
I know longer feel pain,
I am free and I will always be with you in your heart.
Remember the days before the monster came,
the days we laughed until we cried
And loved with all our hearts.
Those long beautiful days
filled with colour and warmth.
When you hear the wind
blow through the leaves on a warm autumn’s day,
or feel the sun shine down
warming your face.
I am with you, happy and free.

The light grew dimmer
and the darkness encased her.
For so long the darkness had been growing
until now there was the merest glimmer of light up above.

The silence echoed all around
the deafening roar of words unspoken.
Now all that remained were the sound of memories
of laughter and joy long since gone.

Up above flew the figure of a bird
the most majestic bird she had ever seen.
With wings of gold that reflected the sun
and a glorious call that resonated around her.

The brightest of lights shone down
covering her in a veil of gold,
Hyaline wings formed from her shoulders
and feathers shrouded her flesh.

She fluttered her wings
and with an air of grace and beauty
she reached up to the light
and soared up through the air

Over raging seas and lakes as blue as shimmering steel,
through dense forests filled with the songs of their faithful inhabitants.
High above the barren landscape of the desert,
until she landed on the snow-capped peaks of the mountain tops.

And all at once, she knew she was free.
