Ode to the Kindhearted
Jacob Smith Dec 2017
You all are a gift, so gentle and pure.
For those of you left it’s a wonder you endure.
For those of you new to this disasterous world,
Nothing can prepare you for the pain that’s ensured.
Some lucky few will have mentors to help,
But others not so will have to learn for themselves.
I give you warning and word from the wise,
This world isn’t meant for us, but we still have to try.
We will be hurt, prosecuted, rejected;
The world will throw at us it’s worst of intentions.
No matter how hard it may be or may seem,
Remember one day coming this pain is redeemed.
It may not be soon, but never give in
Sometime eventual your heart finally wins.
The trials are hard, the tribulations worse,
But everything has Reason, just keep to your course.
I promise you all, those young and those old,
Your time will come, though it might not seem so.
You do not fight a lost battle, keep hold
You will get through this, believe me, I know.
You will find peace you’ve longed eventually
And when that time comes, help the others to see.

Home
Jacob Smith Sep 2017
I just,
I want to go home.
Ive never felt it.
I don't know where it is.
But it has to be there,
Right?
I just want to know
What home feels like.

Trust
Jacob Smith Sep 2017
If I tell you everything in my head, will you still be there for me?
If I opened myself up and let you in,
If I fall completely for you and you say you care,
If I trust you enough to tell you what's wrong,
Will you still be there for me?
I've given this trust to others before you,
They broke my trust.
They left me.
They made it harder to believe.
If I believe in you, will you show me I can trust you?
With my heart, with my soul?
If I pour everything inside me, out to you,
Will you still be here for me?

Humanity's Catastrophe
Jacob Smith Mar 2017
The catastrophe of humanity
Has caused themselves pain and suffering
They've caused such great calamity
on this world that's gave them prosperity.
why not they end the tragedy
that's befallen this world as a unity
and come together in harmony
and live together peacefully?
catastrophe isn't a strange anomaly
for those that are just as you and me
it's in our nature to cause casualty
when we go after our own selfish needs
humanity will never find its peace
only fighting and arguing indubitably
until our days on this planet cease
we destroy our world to find ourselves peace.

Beautiful
Jacob Smith Aug 2016
Your eyes, as bright and beautiful as the stars
Your smile, warmer than the sun on a summer day
Your laugh, the prettiest song ever to be sung
Your embrace, the most comforting place in the world
Your kiss, more than magical, no words could ever really describe
Your heart, pure and full of love
You are the funniest, sweetest, and most beautiful person in the world
You make my life complete
I love you, And I always will

Goodnight, My Love
Jacob Smith Jan 2016
Goodnight, my love
I'll see you when the sun comes up
Don't you worry about the storm, I'll be right here
Sleep tight, my little angel
Don't shed another tear
Don't fret about your demons or your fears
I'll keep them all away, just hold me near

Fallen Stars
Jacob Smith Oct 2015
I look to the stars sometimes,
Thinking of all the ones that have fallen,
And turned someones life around,
Making that someone happy.
I often gaze up there,
At the night sky, wandering,
When will a star fall for me?

But, in reality, that star has most likely fallen already.
They could already be right under my nose.
I'm just to blind to see that star.
Or, I could be that star.
With all probability, I'm not.
But I could be that one meant to fix someones life,
To make someone happy.
And, the person that I love, loves me back just the same.

I wonder,
Maybe, just maybe,
What if we are both stars,
That have fallen from that same sky,
Both meant to make the other happy?
Stars don't die, or burn out.
They live on forever.
In our hearts.
In our memories.

Drowning in Madness
Jacob Smith Oct 2015
You should never give a person a lot of time to think.
No one truly knows of the horrors in your head, of things you come up with.
After having all that time to think.
Sanity may start to lose its grip.
After all, when you give someone too much time to think;
The only one they talk to, they get advice from,
Is themselves.

In Love
Jacob Smith Sep 2015
Two                            people
Fallen in love        with one another
Two people that     couldn't be happier
Lay next to each other, under the night sky
The boy smiles, holding his love close
Kissing her forehead as she sleeps
She stirs, and pulls him closer
He yawns, closing his eyes
Laying there together
Under the stars
Sleeping
In love.

Relaxing
Jacob Smith Sep 2015
The feeling of rain on your skin
Of it running, streaming, down your face
The sound of it hitting the ground, the pavement, the bleachers around you
The night sky above you, your eyes closed, staring up at it
Nothing but the cold rain trailing down your skin,
The sound of it around you,
Nothing on your mind except everything around you, the rain, the sound, the feeling
Isn't all just
Relaxing?

Infinity
Jacob Smith Sep 2015
Two bodies lay still, on a hilltop at night.
The moon gone black; the stars the only light.
A light breeze startled them, both nearly asleep,
and the one, a young boy, planted a kiss on the others cheek.
The other, a young girl, smiled small and wearily;
the night was growing old, they both lay there sleepily.
The boy pulled her closer; she laid her head on his chest,
laid an arm over his stomach, as he wrapped his 'round her waist.
The girl then smiled a bit wider, nuzzling into the boy,
closing her eyes, feeling so overjoyed.
The boy, smiling softly, looking down at her,
gently rubbed his thumb against her shoulder.
He counted the stars, in an almost whisper like tone
just to where she could hear him, and start dozing off in his arms.
To her, he was just counting, nothing important to her
but to him, he was counting how long they'd be together.
after a while, she giggled, and placed a finger on his lips,
and then he smiled wider, and pecked her fingertip.
Then she fell asleep, buried into his chest,
and he dozed off, smiling, holding her close, one number imprinted into his head:
Infinity.

Here's to You
Jacob Smith Sep 2015
Here's to you
All of you who try so hard to make your other happy
Who set time aside to spend with your family.
Who try so hard to make the right decisions,
For your kids, for your wives, for your husbands and etcetera.
Here's to you
All of you who struggle to find that special someone
Who do all they can just to see if there is one.
All those who do their best to make others happy
Who somehow try to hard, and end up pushing others away.
Here's to you all
Who live out your lives, with all those you love
Standing by your side.
Here's to you all
Who think they have no one
But really, if you stay patient and keep looking,
You'll find that there's someone.

Parting of Ways
Jacob Smith Sep 2015
There so much I wish that we could've done
So much that I wanted, before we came undone.
Who knows, there might be another chance one day
But knowing my luck, that chance will never find it's way.
I will never be able to tell you how much you mean to me
Even though we're apart, I'll hold onto everything in memory.
I will never forget the way you held onto me
How you smiled, and laughed, on so many of those days.
I will always miss the feeling of having you in my arms
Oh, how the light in your eyes could outshine the stars.
I will never forget the time that we shared
All the moments we had, no others will ever compare.
I didn't lie when I said always and forever.
I will always be here if you ever need my help.
I promise.
Even if my love somehow dies away,
I'll never forget all of our wonderful memories.
Thank you, for all of those amazing moments
Amid all of the chaos in my life.

Goodnight
Jacob Smith Sep 2015
Goodnight, sleep tight.
Don't worry, you'll be alright.
It's just a little storm outside,
your safe in here, no need to cry.
I'm right here, I'll never leave you.
I'll always be here when you need me to.
no matter how bad the storm may be,
It'll always be you and me.
Sleep well, sweet dreams;
Yes, I promise I won't leave.
I'll stay with you throughout the night,
and wake you up at morning light.
honey, there's no need to frown.
look, see? I'm laying down.
uhg, sweety don't hug so tight!
I promise you you'll be alright.
I love you too, my little angel
I'll keep you safe from this world of danger.
hush now, and close your eyes
no dear, this isn't goodbye.
I'll see you as soon as morning comes,
and we'll both wake up to the morning sun.
Goodnight, my little dove
your the sum of all that I love.

One Day
Jacob Smith Dec 2014
Give me one day to try
one day to make you smile
one day to prove my love to you
that I am worth your while
Give me one day to make you happy
to try and help you through your fights
one day to be there for you
to comfort you through the night
Give me one day to make you laugh
to cheer you up when you are down
one day to make you feel joyful
to see you grinning in place of a frown

— The End —
