If I could go back
To the day that we met
You know what I would do

I'd still say hey
Tell you my name
Then say that I love you

Why take up the years
It took to get here
To come up with that truth

Now that I've thought it out
Beyond a shadow of doubt
That's exactly what I would do

The day I said hey
And told you my name
I would tell you that I love you

I am a mortal man
Though I like to plan
As if my world will never end
I do pretend
That I will live forever
My links will never sever
Every day is child's play
So easy for me to say
I will not die today
Come what may
I will not die today
Maybe some day
I will die
So I'm told
And it's a story that I buy
But I put it on  a shelf
Out of sight
A little high
So every day
It's out of mind
Then like a child at play
I lose the time
Drifting on
Through the days
Down the stream
And suddenly
I'll wake up in
Another dream

I performed with Cumbrian Tethera at a music concert at a pub called The Mortal Man in Troutbeck, Cumbria, UK yesterday.  Later I wished I had written a song about 'The Mortal Man' so I wrote this poem and hope to turn it into a song

Sleeping on these clouds
And pillows
My heart dreams
And weeps
Painting with everything
Beautiful about you
Colors echoing
Of secret shades
Of every hue of red
And sculpting
The clouds and pillows
To form these words
*I Love You
I hold my ears keen
Keep eyes opened wide
But can't solve the riddle
Of who's on whose side.

Today Tom heaps praise
Showers laurels too many
Tomorrow hell is raised
Tim is Tom's enemy.

How fast makes Tom amend
Finds Tim full of flaws
Pete is now his friend
Tim Tom unfollows.

He digs out wrongs of Tim
Finds him crooked and sly
So inducts in his team
Pete the nicest guy.

I can't hold back smile
Though at end of wit
How friendship is volatile
Sour turns a relation sweet.

I wonder why it's so
With life such a brief ride
We never really grow
Feel the need to be on same side.

Hello

The wind whispers
As you walk past me
A different kind of pain
Surged through my whole being
A punch is tolerable
Unpleasant words would've been better
But the harrowing silence
Between two stars that were once part
Of a constellation
Is unbearable

Emotions protrude from us
A curious mix of love and anger
Swirls between our bodies
Have we forgotten
How beautiful of a storm we are
When we're together?

Not now

The wind once again whispers
For now this breeze will decide
The fate of two strangers
But before we sunder
Hear my whisper
I'll wait for an answer

How are you?
