If life is a marathon
I’m losing the race
Because I am so lost
I’m a forgotten case.

I wish I could figure out people
They’re such a big mystery
I don’t know if it’s possible
We can study and learn our history
But we’re so complex, it is not plausible

Dogs are way better than people
That is a well-known fact!
But people smell way better than doggies,
But people still lack tact!

I crave affirmation
I live off of praise
Why do I need this
Is it my curse?
Why do other’s opinions matter?

This generation
Is obsessed
Begging for an ovation
This nation
Is in preparation
For the worst
But it’s already started
Things have gone south
Into the uncharted
Hard-hearted
That’s what I am

We are
All the phony stars
The famous people
Standing a top their great steeple
They’re not better than us
None of us are
We try
But this world is so bad
It’s enough to make a grown man cry
Grown men cry
Single moms sigh
Because this world is going south
No one trusts
Each other anymore
We ruined this world

From the fire of hate

Why do people lie
Why do they always deny
That they did something wrong-
No one will actually play along.

Why do people hate
No good things will it create
All it will ever do
Is make people hate you too.

Why do people scream
Yelling won’t fix anything.
What do they think volume’s gonna do?
It won’t help them gain any power over you.

If you are a pristine crystal surface
I am rough wood covered in shattered glass
Which doesn’t have a purpose,
Hurts people, and looks like trash.

If the world keeps getting worse
Happiness will go first
Moral compass will go second
The weak will be left to fend
For themselves.

If the world keeps getting better
Your own daughter can change the world, just let her
Wars would never start
There would be less shattered hearts
And more love.

I just realized
We kind of get stupider
As we grow up.

For example:
5 year old: doesn’t care what mean people say.
10: starts to care
15: is obsessed

But we also kind of get smarter
5: no patience
10: no patience
15: no patience
20: no patience
25: no patience
30: patience
89: a crazy amount of patience

Humans are weird like that

I can’t find the butter for my bread
I refuse to have anything else instead.
I can’t find the missing puzzle piece
That will complete my masterpiece.

I still wait.

You are not the same on the inside
You wear a mask
Why won’t you let me see
The beauty you keep from me?

I’d be hot as a guy.

I spill over my skin
An over-emotional mess
I am a puddle
You are a stone
I feel so much
That I overload and forget how to feel

Miracles happen all the time.
We just need to pay attention.
They are there.

I am slowly deteriorating
And going insane

My supports are bending
From the weight of my burden

I look up overhead and see
A dark cloud that’s constantly following me

Still waters run deep.
Still water people are rare to find
And even harder to keep.

Loud waters run shallow
Some of them are rather foul.

She would like to feel something again
She thinks she deserves the pain
She thinks she is a living sin
And that it is not worth living.

She is wrong.

Perfectionism is begot from high expectations.

Extroverted introvert: ignorant to social graces.

You’re not any better than me
Just like the land’s not worse than the sea
We have different strengths
But that does not make
You any worse or better than me.

If the definition of normal is
usual, typical, or expected
What if what’s typical
Is people being weird
Does that make weirdness
No longer weird
And instead normal?

My brain hurts.

There are so many things to do
Places to be
Things to say
People to meet.

So don’t purposefully die any time soon. Thank you.
