When i look at you, i feel like I'm in the middle of the ocean.
Because every time you move it feels like I'm drowning..
Even the stars
shake when I
speak your name,
a woman bursting
her heart,
red and raw,
arteries like arms
wrapping around
a wound, a bloom
of tulips
in my chest,
a cavity of
dirt, a wisp of
seaweed stretching
a lonely hand
into the ocean,
begging a wave
to answer

In 2019,
I want more.

Want more sunrises
More rolling out of bed with a purpose

More afternoons curled in a love seat

I want a garden
inside me and in my backyard

More friends
More nuzzles from dogs

More oceans

More allowance to make mistakes
After all, you were brave enough to try.

More stillness
More belly laughs
More love letters

More sway in my hips
Cool breeze on my lips

More looking in the mirror to see my smile
not the width of my thighs

More finding shapes in the clouds

More moments that leave me breathless

More life
All the painfully messy beautifully chaotic morsels
dripping from my chin

In 2019,
I want more.

I sip this bitter coffee,
Swirling the creamy signatures across each taste bud,
Sitting with an aftertaste I wonder,
What would it taste like on your tongue?

I'll always dream of early morning coffee in bed,
But sadly,
You're not a coffee drinker.

A house
A street
The city
A state
A country

The earth
The solor system
The milky way galaxy
This universe

I must've told my 2nd grade teacher

I really loved her
I miss her sometimes

Sometimes I forget I use to be so small

We were all once children !

Now I teach my own
that it doesn't matter where they're from
They belong to the earth
It's a gift
from the universe
