Egomaniac
Autumn Apr 2020
I wouldn’t put it past you to be so shallow
Your egomaniac nature makes you far from
hallow.

Your patronizing smirk
And your eyes filled with pride
At long last, revealed was the truth you could no longer hide.

Instruction
Autumn Apr 2020
Three hundred sixty-five days in a year
But I can count more times I didn’t hear
God compelling me to seek Him first
When I’m struggling, and I’m at my worst.

Am I hard of hearing
Or do I just choose
To do things my own way
And His will I refuse?

On a journey towards a path of destruction
Because I deliberately spurned my Fathers instruction.
My heart is hard from lack of endeavor
To build a relationship with the King of forever.

Past
Autumn Apr 2020
The person I am and the person I was
Are completely different people
If I were to marry who I was
I would ditch her at the steeple

I’m constantly harassed
By thoughts of my past
My guilt of a vast
Leaving me aghast

— The End —
