The stars miss the sun
Allysa Jen Jan 2023
If "the stars miss the sun in the morning sky"
Then I would still admire you from a far.
Even as the teacher messed our seats
Even when I see you happy under the shade of a tree
I would call it quits for I am the only one in love.
Neither you nor I would be happy together.
So I would not push you under the rainy weather.
And get sick of me.
So sick you wouldn't even see me.

I fell for a guy
As handsome as when the snow fell on a flower
One thing I only see on pictures
One that I only see on winter

He might think I only fell for his looks
But I see him not like in those books
I try not to but a laugh always goes out
Even for mere words as "water"
Made my heart flutter

For someone to make me smile
Even when I see him from a mile
My admiration for his works
I was never envious

But if ever he doesn't like me
I would still admire him for he
I would choose to be happy by myself,
And not with someone who's edgy with me
For some reason I wanna add elf on a shelf somewhere.

Christmas is the great pine tree;
With red and green boxes filled with glee.
Lights light up like stars so randomly.
Kids were good and didn't lie
"Santa, please give me a gift!" says Kai

The giggle of the children fill the streets.
People waiting for midnight fill the seats;
Filipino Spaghetti with a sauce so sweet,
With different fresh pastry for kids to eat.
Christ's birthday is such a treat.
"Christmas is a yellow filled room even as green and red graced the walls and the ornaments."

My teacher told us to give atleast 3 pairs of rhyming words, 3 figures of speech, 3 sound devices and 3 sensory imagery in our poem. Where do you think I put them??

Ring on his finger
Allysa Jen Dec 2022
Staring at him whom i love
like staring into one's soul;
Taking aback by those amazing gaze
Oh what grace.
Confessing, though he's saturn
with it's ring:
Trying to catch a flower owned by a bee
No honey left for me.

He replied forthwith to my kind gesture
Flustered and red
Looked at me with those eyes,
peicing like a poisoned arrow

"It is not only the moon that loved the sun
The sun longed for the moon the most
But the sun can only give it's warm light
Not it's whole embrace
For it already had earth in place"

Heartbroken is she,
She who knows 'tis right to leave
She, however, is only a leaf;
A leaf to a flower in a bouquet of roses,
No wonder rejection is only a trivial thing.
But love doesn't seem right
If you don't go back;
But love, he's not mine to fight.

May pa toh ngayon ko lang narevise.

Those Memories Give Me Pain
Allysa Jen Dec 2022
Every time I laugh,
My eyes burst to tears.
Those tears are invisible,
Those tears were caused by someone unimaginable.

Until The Future
Allysa Jen May 2021
From our ancestors to what we are now.
We are Filipinos, racism we won't allow,
People have changed but not our culture.
For our culture, we respect and treasure.

Lapu-Lapu is still in our books.
Made history with an arrow he took.
Tried to stop Spain and killed Magellan,
Made a shrine in Cebu, in Mactan.

Many things in the Philippines.
Like a church older than our parents.
An eagle that's crucially endangered,
Or the Rafflesias in Mindanao.

They are the diamonds we treasure.
Those things can give us pleasure.
From seeing other people happy,
We will be full of glee.

A mother
Allysa Jen May 2021
She woke up when the sun has not risen.
She cooked breakfast and wake her children.
She washed, cleaned, dressed and fed them.
As their father drove farther with their kids,
She would do more household chores.
Washed dishes and clothes, she was too tired, she's restless.
She check everything in the house. She's done by 7. She already cooked, waiting for her children. They would eat, laugh and talk.

Their mother is smiling so they thought it's ok to just sit there.
Do nothing while their mother is hurting.
She thought her children was getting irresponsible.
She told them to do chores but they ignored her. Despite all that she still love them, give them everything.
She fell asleep thinking about things. She thought how would tomorrow go.
“Things would repeat itself until I'm old?"
“What would happen to her children when they were like that?"
Even in her dreams they're there, but they didn't think of giving her care.
They were just thinking she would do things she was already doing when she is aging.
Care for them our Mother, as they took care of us when we don't know what world is.

Insecure
Allysa Jen Mar 2021
She is too insecure,
Tried finding the cure.
Their comments are cruel,
But her heart's pure.
She thought she's ugly and poor.

She worked out,
Now she's got a date.
Oh! I found my soulmate, she exclaimed.
He broke her trust, even her heart
Insecure again, she's single till the end.

Last Goodbye
Allysa Jen Mar 2021
I saw a leaf as it fall to the ground
My tears fell like rain from the sky
'Cause I remember our goodbye
It came like lightning and made cold nights
It's unexpected but its all right
It may be what's life
To grow and love
To fall and cry.
I loved again
There's no gain
We said goodbye at the end
Oh how good it is
Someone came to me
He took away the pain
And he promised me
A life full of happiness
Tears not of sadness but of joy
Our children will grow with hope and courage
It came true
But I still need to say my last goodbye
For the first time
My children saw my sorrowful tears
Half sad half happy
The only person that gave me glee died
But he's the only one
The only one who showed me
The true meaning of goodbyes

Opposite of a Miracle
Allysa Jen Feb 2021
I prayed to the Lord for a miracle,
It came true after an hour.
Day turned to night.
Everything got black

Don't know the miracle would be a mistake
As my mom got mad.
I slept not at ease
But with tears in my eyes.

Betrayal
Allysa Jen Feb 2021
I did some thing I regret,
To person I vowed to care.
Didn't know it would turn bad,
I was wrong when I thought I would be glad.

Now everything was upside down,
Can't look at myself cause I feel drowned.
I thought I could help her,
But no I broke her heart.

As I am walking through my own path,
Feelings are haunting me so bad.
I feel ashamed of my self,
That I did this to my best friend

A Villain
Allysa Jen Feb 2021
I might be a Villain
but I was first a normal person.
Friends left me
People abused me
Now that I'm a monster,
no one know my story.
For If they Knew
Will they forgive me like I am New

Rose
Allysa Jen Feb 2021
Love is a rose, beautiful as it is
But thorns might pierce
Those two lovers, broken-hearted
You'll be possessive, you'll try to find it, take care of it, you'll still accept it open hearted.

Beautiful Dream
Allysa Jen Feb 2021
I woke up alone at night,
While crying porfusely
About a nightmare,
I thought it was a beautiful dream

In that dream things I love, people I trust.
Turns into evil things I fear,
things I disgust.
It's too vivid, that it made my life just like that.

Yeah I woke up from those nightmares,
I just cried and said it's the opposite
But it became the truth one day,
Coz' I am not the child they loved

I turned myself into a monster,
Into someone I disgust.
