Don't Leave Me
I beg you
Please don't leave me
I want to clutch your shirt
I want to wrap my arms around your ribs
So I can feel them extend with each breath you take
I need your heat
And to fall asleep with my face hidden in your neck
Just for a moment I might not feel so *alone

Your name should grace my lips
While I feel your skin against my fingertips
Inside I'm screaming for you to return
Apologizing that it took so long for me to miss you
Please don't leave me
Please don't leave me
At least, not completely.

He looked into my eyes
And he said
Not yet do we have to be dead
And in that moment
I could have sworn that maybe
Just maybe
We could be forever

I told him
Nothing lasts forever
For forevers always turn into
nevers

He took his hand
And cupped my cheek
His eyes turned so mournful
Like he bared the kind of love that could make armies turn weak

Maybe we don't have to be forever then
He said
But maybe instead we can be infinite

In that moment I knew for sure
That in fact we may not be forever
But that maybe
Just maybe
That it was okay
Because as I kissed him I believed
That we truly were
*infinite

We think that
when a lover inflates his loved one
he or she is failing to acknowledge their  flaws...

"Love is blind" we say ...
but it may be the other way around

You see ...

Love allows a person to see
the true angelic nature of another,
their halo,
the aureole of divinity.

Love permits
an extrasensory capability of looking deeper into the soul.

And for that reason,
Genuine love
could not be blind.

tonight i drowned out the silence with the sound of your voice
i watched your hands touch the darkness & turn it into light
i felt your eyes burn holes down the curve of my spine
i tasted years of sadness in the warmth of your mouth
i felt love move inside me when your skin touched mine
please love,
don't ever stop
making me,
*feel

Trust me, I know how it feels.
I know exactly how it feels to cry in the shower
so no one can hear you,
waiting for everyone to fall asleep so you can fall apart,
for everything that hurt you
so bad that you just want it all to end.
I know exactly how it feels.
