Thank you, oh thank you,
I had forgotten what love is,
You came and I was reminded.

You had me healed very soon,
Healed I was to good health,
Thank you, oh thank you.

Thank you, oh thank you,
I forgot what heartbreak is,
You left & pushed me into one.

You gave me a permanent one,
I had forgotten what pain is,
Thank you, oh thank you.

Thank you, oh thank you,
Deceit was not novel to me,
You cursed me into loneliness.

Welcome to the new
Millennial scene
Where most the guys you meet
Are more nightmarish than dreams

These are the ones
Your Mama warned you about
But you're too far in now
To ever get out

Where have all the good guys gone
And how long
Must you be all alone

Another Friday night like
The Friday before
And with Saturday knocking
On the same door

You have your Mom
To watch the kids
As you sit here and wonder
Who's watching his

Where have all the good guys gone
And how long
Must you be all alone

Either they're married
Or soon divorced
And are they here for the company
Or just looking to score

You've never been much
On playing the game
But who wants to play
Real life anyways

Where have all the good guys gone
And how long
Must you be on your own
Had a friend text me from a bar last night, drinking alone and wondering why she's single. From our conversation I came up with this.

What is the color of day
The color of night
Sometimes a hardened steely gray
Others soft as candlelight

Red skies in the morning
Sailors need take heed
With no need for a warning
If red skies at night the day proceeds

No better the sunny weather
That makes my mornings shine
But then you can't beat the cool air treat
Of a star filled sky at night

The skies of blue never do
Have the blues per say
And the blackest night mood feels just right
When you give the blues away

What is the color of day
The color of night
Whatever color they choose I've news for you
The color is just right

There's something 'bout a woman
Like the flicker of a fire
Makes you want to stare
Fills you with desire
No need to turn the heat
For you to feel her warmth
There's something 'bout a woman
Makes you come in from the cold

There's something 'bout a woman
That keeps your heart afloat
When the world around you
Is a sinking boat
She is the island paradise
On the raging sea you're in
There's something 'bout a woman
That's perfect for a man

There's something 'bout a woman
Makes you want to hum along
To the beauty of her melody
To the best of her in song
The joy that's in her sound
The drowning of applause
There's something 'bout a woman
Where all she is, is all you want

With broken glass on the floor
Broken promises one and all
If they'd learned to read
They'd have seen the written on the wall

But nothing's here to change
From cradle to the grave

In a worn out trailer park
On a worn out side of town
They thought that things would be different
Than where they are right now

On their planed escape
From cradle to the grave

Crowned High school sweethearts
The righteous King and Queen
With his fist now as his scepter
In her reality

Who's keeping the wolves at bay
From cradle to the grave

Drinks his breakfast, lunch, and dinner
From out a paper cup
Used to dream for desert
But this town ate that up

Wasting away
From cradle to the grave

The only blessing offered them
Was their Louisiana child
But watching her parents interact
She never learned to smile

Another one on her way
From cradle to the grave

No need for a future
If they even had one at all
So far down in the ditch
It's so hard to recall

With the only thing left to say
From cradle to the grave
