chasing down those clouds
in penetrating light
rode to the bridge

sun had set
pink and gold patterns
on the river

The man at the water plant
leaning on the railing
glanced down the river.

above the silhouetted hills
below the salmon gilded clouds
a patch of blue

no longer blue
but the color of the turquiose ring
on my bike tires

I have pretty eyes, I'm told,
but I didn't ever believe it
until I was hearing it from you.

I needed braces for four years,
but you say you've never been
more in love with someone's smile.

I stopped eating lunch every day,
but started to again
when you told me my body was perfect.

I've always hated my lips,
but have never felt happier
than when they were pressed to yours.

And I find it ironic (and amazing)
that everywhere I didn't feel beautiful
was beautiful to you.

(But I just wish I could tell you
that I feel the very same way about
the parts of you you want to change.)

In a tsunami of turquiose and honest
Smiles, you sing silently of
Anything but tragedies us others wave
Like flags before us,
Until asked.

The oldest young person I know,
And we laugh together across
The oceans between us.
Making noise; annoying haters.
We could be the coolest cats in the world,
If we cared to.

But we'd rather curl up under
My raindeer- and sheep skins by the
Fire. I'll temper mead; it'll warm you.
We could watch snow falling, lit from the window
By which it fell. Then suit up in the morning

And make angels and snowmen with the landlord's
Daughter. I'll throw so many snow ***** in the
Back of your head you'll be curly for
Months. Trust me. I'm Norwegian.
You're dead...

You'd love it. Summers are green and blue.
Life in the city electric.
Ice cream and cold, cold beer.
Out here, so quiet you can hear a thousand birds, a
Myriad of scents; freshness; organic.

This could be our happy place. Our
Safe Haven; our Sweet Away.
I'd read to you.
Write about you.
We'd paint together in the fall.
When all is red and auburn.

But there's distance between us
As wide as worlds.
For now I'll enjoy it alone.
Arms open on
Demand.

You have to stay where your life is.
And myself without the pleasure of
Making all your worries whisper away on the wind.

Girl, may you never be cold. Never sad again.
May the life you are so full of
Repay you with bliss.
With love.
With laughter. Oceans of giggles and hugs in
The sunshine.

I wish you so well it hurts. Yes,
I may think you are some sort of magic woman.
Everything you touch
Loves you.

Summer is my favorite season
I was born in the hazy heat
In the middle of a black and white city
that never goes to sleep

I hear a black crow at my window
her song, it frightens me
hard sandels, and coin medallions
a green dress, and Greek keys

The things we wanted they came too fast
and now we're stuck dwelling on the past

It would have been a boy, if he was real
and I would have named him Simon or James
I would have cried cause he was yours
He would have had a precious face

So take my hand
and say something simple
you said it plenty when I didn't ask
Go on. Say that you love me
I didn't expect much,
I'm okay with that.

You have Rubies, Turquiose, and Sapphires,
I just have the moon, and a few pearls
You can light yourself on fire if you want to
and I'll smile at the world

Liquid glass rains down
In shades of turquiose
Trickling diamond drops
Shatter to create a frozen wasteland
Below these clouds of treasure
Beneath a hundred moons
Travelling forever
This blue planet
Recently they found a "blue planet that rains liquid glass" and I just couldn't help but imagine how beautiful it would be to witness such a phenomenon.

Feathers burst forth
seared with sunlight.
The coast is clear,
baby girl,
the waves are breaking
turquiose shores,
and my heart
is aching to consume you.

Sunday poolside

Prelude for tomorrow's Spring,

It's first day, midway in March,

Weeks away from the month of May.

And I decide to cool my inner heat

In the gurgling soup of the jacuzzi

Whiles the unaccompanied tweens scream

And play a made up game

A hybrid of polo basketball and puberty...

No clue how conversations start,

But a friendless me talks and talks

Unable to stop, even when they disperse...

I talked to myself mostly,

Or if they were listening, the ears that heard,

Advice on life, trying to wake up the herd

The void wears a teenager's face

And in the sounds of summer

This prelude day to Spring,

Splashing and laughter and a toddler's cooing

I observe my voice drifting

Up and through the fence of steel bars

Eroding, rust colored water

On grey cement and murky turquiose...

I talk and it feels like I'm under water

Their attention span as transient

As Vegas itself...

I talk about myself honestly,

I gave them real advice

From the mistakes of friendless me,

what it will take to succeed

For a future they could care less about

And Life!

Must of talked about nothing

Talked mostly to myself

The day before spring, all heat and not much else,

I felt something hollow then

Recognizing Hell

The void mimics reality well

when was it I fell?

*(Sensing greys in their shells... The rising heat...

Midnights distant tolling... Trumpets and bells)
