"BUT WHAT IS THE MUSICAL TORTURE EXPERIMENT NICK?"

Well me, I'm glad you asked.
The Musical Torture Experiment was started in 2013 by yours truely, Nicholas R Coulombe.
Where I asked everyone I knew, met, or saw on the street, to hand me 5 songs that I would add to one playlist,
listen to that playlist on a loop
AND NO OTHER MUSIC
for an entire month.

I have continued this tradition each year
recruiting Willing victims & voulenteers
to listen along with me.

These victims have many different lives, interests, and genre preferences,
but there is one thing they all have in common.

The blissfull escapism of living in their headphones.

This gaggle of Tune-heads who use their music as a fundamental life resource, a coping mechanism, an escapist fantasy or meditation.
These people offer their body and spirit to music.

Now, for a whole month, they are relinquishing control of their music.

Shotgun no longer shuts their piehole.

For an entire month.
Listeners will not be able to skip or select any music other than
YOUR SUBMISSIONS!

This is the perfect opportunity to force someone to really find whats so amazing about those artists we culturally hate.
Or maybe theirs an oldy that your grandkids Refuse to consider music because there is static or twangy voices instead of bass drops.

Maybe you talk about your love of skrillex and a hipster spits their kombucha in your face.

If you have songs that DESERVE the light of day.
This is your chance to indulge in their exhibition.

want to voulenteer yourself as tribute to listen along with these crazy *******?
keep tabs on what is being added cause you think its kinda interesting?
Or contribute YOUR five songs?

Old age & the ailment are connected,
it doesn't mean u have been rejected!

A little oldy gave me a dollar.
I gave her two in return.
The little old lady gave me two.
I gave her three in return.
The little old lady gave me four.
I gave her five in return.
The little old lady gave me five.
I gave her five in return.
The little old lady Ask me why i only gave her five.
I said "the Government would declare it a income and I would be taxed.

An old friend has appeared after a long time,
It was late night, I didn't say it is wrong time!

A bevy of immigrants continually appear
Closer and closer they’re coming near
Now that they’re here;
Demanding rights as a citizen entitled to;
Housing jobs phone money
Stealing cars No ID Drivers license
  No car insurance or recourse
They are becoming a problem, a force

The refugee flow are camping along bike trails in parks by streams
California life is not what it seems

Even in the front of peoples homes
Take steal No apologies refusal to atone.
Home invasions knowing people there
They stay for days they don’t care

I was rattled by a group of ragged men who didn’t even try to hide their face
Whatever it takes to create their space

Robbery demanding money, car keys.
Hands up get on your knees
Rain snow cold and wet
They take what they can get.

Every day more are coming
Apartments Full No room at the Inn
Bad to worse This situation is A NO win
Bureaucrats did not stop to contemplation
California State our cities in damnation

The food banks are empty
No longer a state of plenty
Pharmacy’s medications empty gone
Drug companies ran out what’s going on?

Hospitals, emergency room 24 hour wait
Immigrants use as urgent care
Rashes flu common cold
Aches and pains from being oldy
While real emergencies people dying
To treat an earache children crying

Giving from the heart, it’s a start
Eat a bit lighter so you can share part
Winter Elements are brutal
Tents, tarps boxes, shelters futile

Giving we learn to make due
Blankets, gloves, scarves sweaters, too
Most of us have an extra or a few
Snow Coats we never wear share

Become a target if you just help One
They swarm, grabbing tell you have none
Enough for few not for many
Shoestring budget life, pinching Penny

What would you do if you were starving?

Sing with me and hear my melody
Though it shifts from lows to highs
Like that of a bright ruddy howdy
That suddenly turns to whines and sighs.

Sing with me and hear my melody
For my heart is bruised again
To trust and be trusted- are these only meant for an oldy?
Like how sweets turned to soured canes?

Sing with me and hear my melody
Though these are rants and selfish ambitions
Unclear views resemble the skies so gray and cloudy,
Pleas and pains, stay patient with those revelations.

Sing with me and hear my melody
Hardest chance is once again spotted
A cure to soothe the soul so rowdy
Like the keys of black and white
Without contrasts resounding music isn't present
So lift your soul and bring on the fight
Close thy eyes and make your countenance bright.

Sing with me and hear my melody
When others branded me too quiet,
Unfriendly countenance, serious look at most,
As I play the keys, whispers of sadness haunts me
But you cleanse my soul and
Turn  my chills to warm and sweet caress.
