I opened an email today. I was told of how I must look "Good" in order to be "Taken Seriously" or "If People wish to Even Take You At All."
Like David Copperfield, The Caged Tiger,  and The Joker.
Placed in "One Big Finale."  The "Entertainment" of this "Show" had started.
The Joker was not like all the rest. He became evil by being outcast, since youth, into adulthood; for scars that were not of his own  doing.
He decided to "Pay Back" The "Normals" in one big "Contest to Win The right To Live and Not for the Tiger to have your "Pretty Little Faces to Maw."
David Copperfield thought he could Escape and to "Save everyone's day" "From the scared up ugly which had made "His own choice to become Evil."
As the judges took their seats, the contest was about to begin.
A puff of smoke, some mirrored tricks, and a flashed destraction and David thought he was "Home Free."
Grabbing for the form in the clouds he thought was the "Joker," he grasped for the capture.
"Poor Magic Boy!" - The Joker sneered as he took his place at the start. To grab some finally deserved spot light and a chance to **** an "Animal with Color that isn't Very Hard to Use for David's Adventures."
Whipping at the beast and working in a wooden chair, finally the Tiger Spoke Out.
"Why must you Human's Use me as a prop? A
Defined Addition as People's Property?"
"Why So Serious? You've got your fame, as Magic Boy's Lackey!"
Swiping the Joker to the ground with one strong whip of his front left paw, he knocked out the Joker, but, he never killed him.
Busting out the door, running for the Jungle.
Words were understood as the "Prop Animal" ran for his freedom.
"What makes me different, Makes Me Strong. I survive not only because of my 'Animal Survival Instincts,' however, the faith and determination to fight for my rights  to be true to who and what I am and to be free."
"Free to  rule My Own Earned thrown in my Rule in my very own  Kingdom."

they spur us on with mock encouragement.
a goal like a carrot
dangling like a participle right before our eyes.
and the tragedy and the misery
and the waylaid things
and the guilt they bring
storm around inside.
and the light that hides just seems to bind
when i can not make it shine.
but, 'on,' they scream,
'you must go on!'
they will not let it go.
i guess the mud doesn't seem such a bad place to rest
when you can't seem to lift your head.
so we strive for some vague representation
of something we saw on t.v.
and the time just ticks away.

so look at us now . . . they're selling us war!
pick it up at the most convenient store.
and now no one is paying attention.
forcing it on unwilling consumers
flooded the vast spectrum of media with rumors
these weapons of mass destruction
are just one big ******* mass destraction
and look! there's no one paying attention.
we've all turned our heads
in some middle easternly direction
a more reasonable enemy than our own ******* poverty.

but don't speak now, for we have not the time.
just look.
or march.
but be quiet.
and so we set sail
to ****** ourselves
as the majority disagree.
and we fumble around in our pockets
and shift our eyes to the sidewalks
and step over cracks and break our own backs
for our orange and coveted prize.
but who gets the laugh when we all realize
our surprise was just death in an edible disguise
and a grave is a grave, regardless of whom it holds?

'on,' they cry, and 'on,' they cry,
so shuffle, and sigh,
and avert your eyes
from the light that hides
and will never shine
on anything we do
until we forget these disgusting concepts
of death as a path to the truth.

dancing round the tiny room
looking like a flower bloom
smile growing as you spin
turning quickly to a grin

hair undone and flowing down
show the world your princess gown
music filling the tiny space
music, hair, bows, and lace

watching through the foggy glass
spacing out inside your class
shoes kicked off beneath your desk
try to hide your bubblegum breath

teacher drones about geometry
hate it as much as geography
try at least to take the notes,
review them when you get back home

showing off your "special friend"
assuring he is "just a friend"
dinner shall be awkward now
awkward now that he's around

see a girl and feel quite odd
but never think that you are flawed
date a girl, date a boy
date whoever brings you joy.

packing up your childhood
can't do the things a child could
off to find your rightful place
off to find your steady pace

get a job, get a house
get yourself a caring spouse.
have some children, have some fun
before the time you have is done.

Or don't.

buy a car and travel around.
decide to come back homeward bound.
live a life without destraction.
hear the mighty call to action.

go to college, or just don't.
we won't judge, no we won't.
Adult is now the name for you,
and with such title, do what you do.

dance around the room at night,
love a girl, if you feel its right.
leave your toys just laying about,
you know I'd never throw them out.

As we passed each other
Windy night, dark outside
Looking but no -
Things go like this
Anyway
You turned around and said:
Why follow how things go
So we ended up beyond looking
A film! That didn't end
particularly well in the end
It is all about intentions
And my intention on that particular corner
of that particular night was that
I decided to stop thinking
about you as my heart and home
So I followed this destraction
came right on time
But every shelf life expires
Anyway
Thank you for being the best rebound boy
ever, forever and never
