You are deckled with stars
My crystal habitue of the night
Not even my greatest
Lines give a glimpse
Of the light you are

Your touch is the fire
Within me that burns
The bright yellow that is
Not even a wisp of
The flame that's in your eyes

The quintessence of my night,
Your shadow sparks perhaps
What should be left dead
The essence of my night
Stands beside me
As the orange glows
And illuminates his face
Day dreaming ..

Delicious is a word I save for you.
Chocolate comes close but feeds me only
Famine.  Your skin is blest three times,
Once for new redolence.  Bay leaved
To the core, you proffer memories
Which chamber the years in round rooms,
Opening freely into rouge galleries
Of spice.  Secondly, it is soft as summer
Water.  It draws itself toward touch
Like ripples skipping over a sweating pond,
Lapping its way towards the creamy shore.
The third gift of your skin is the colour
Of desired destination, an instrument
Which maps the mirror of a universe,
Because you are deckled with stars so heady,
You are wet smoke from drooling galaxies
And rose white fathoms of sky, they are pooling,
And pulling me with force so fulsome
As to be almost—
Tasteless.

The firm green bread of spring,
The blue blood of heaven and the milky
Sun, these are your flavours all intermingled,
And three piquant senses speak to my tongue;
I smell, I touch, I taste— you are,
Delicious.

I mute out all sound
Least I treespass on reasons rhyme

I enjoin in the signets call
Least I surround myself with subterfuge

Like a deckled cheeseboard
I hunger for a Silver  lining

Palimpsest on a bright day
I scribe letters already cast
rough white parchment
torn up by fine black ink
an octopus curls its legs around the deckled edges
intertwined.
But no ones knows
what those succinct drops of black said
in the room where "it" happens...

In the cool of Indian summer,
in the country of leaves,
lit mildew and cobwebs
on the verge,
bespoke sandals on the lane.

Remember who your best friend was?
Now he lies refused
deckled like a bird.
The pages blew, out of proportion.
The broken year will not change,
the kiss of the bright curl of the leaves,
and where was your second chance?
I unfolded a melody
tears swam in the margins

candles of war, unrequited love, and poetry
winked at me
from the ink

H-o-p-e
spelled out
penciled in
the faded ink, deckled edges, tiny wooden flecks
marginalized, coated on paper

of the book
I hold, now close
