I will be the light that which God wants me to be,
The light which even under high intensity pressure still can be seen.
No matter how dark and twisted the dimensions they may seem,
I will be the light God wants me to be.
For every person alive and gone is certainly a part of the perspective within me,
I see how we are moulding ourselves without realising we are, we.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel,
I've come to realise that actually the light is me.
And I realise my aim in life is to die, not to achieve an easy life rather to stay truly illuminated with love until I die,
Through every cancer, every hardship, every struggle, every war, every test,
I want to be able to say to God at the end,
I was the light you needed me to be.
And God will say to me, Welcome home.
And I will say Thank You, I love you.
For you were the One who made the light which is we/me.

Ghazal
Nostalgia is a bitter-sweet pill,
I taste it as the wind tickles
My bare shoulders, just like
His breath used to,
I drink it when I remember
The dizzy euphoria of devouring
His wine-kissed lips,
Oh what I wouldn't give
To have him tiptoe back into
My existence and grab me by my waist,
Erase the bitterness and replace it
With the sweetness of himself.
Oh what I wouldn't give
To have him fill in the blanks
He's left in my poetry,
Replenish the drought, the paucity
Of his most sacred gift to me,
Words
If he'd return,
My words would too.
"Mummy can we dream?, can we pretend we're not living in the streets?
Can we pretend to be high and mighty sipping on some coffee with cream?
Can we mum?"

"Mummy can we dream? Can we pretend the muffled screams are sounds of joy rather than pain?
Mummy can we please?"

"Lets pretend dad's here, he's happy and you're not crying yourself to sleep.
Can we pretend that I don't have these scars and that my uncle never hit me with beer bottles, lets pretend he bought me a teddy named cuddles".

"Mummy can we dream?"
"Can we pretend Aunty never killed herself and that Granddaddy never pulled the trigger on Grandma?"

"Please mum lets pretend?"
