In the distance I hear your anklets chime
With your every step as they  rhyme
The soft tinkles of your green glass bangles
Puts my being in twists and tangles

In front of the mirror you come sit
un turning leisurely your earrings
Unawares, baby you begin to play
music on my heart strings

As you smile, I gaze with fascination
In the mirror, your rendition
Bidding good night, your eyes close
Leaving me to admire, your beauty in repose

You turn and place a kiss on my cheek right
Holding the promise of a stormy night
The battering rains will drench
the earth and in turn quench
The fires that in my heart you lit the first time
When I heard your anklet’s chime
Written from a man's perspective.

In the ocean deep corners
Of the mines of our mind
Before the first waves
of thoughts stir
Exists a rete
of sheer gossamer
That hold in remembrance
An antiquated trace
Of the origins
Of creations
Of tales untold
Upon which we lay
A language regal
And weave stories new
As this life we renew

To Him I am drawn
As I greet the daily dawn

The sonorous sounds of 'Suprabhatam'
Makes my world dance to His rhythm

Rain or shine I never place my walk on hold
For I love watching daily His marvel unfold

The little frogs that scamper across
Over the wet dark green glossy moss

I love watching the kites soar across the vast space
and the way they  land at a measured pace

I see the rains hugging the rocks as they slide
Creating a merry cascade high and wide

The brown hills now don a verdant green
Making the birds chirp and preen

How can I in my heart hold any grief
I simply enjoy Nature's play in relief.

Note: Suprabhatam: Sanskrit morning hymn to Lord Vishnu.

In the sensual glow
that from your wide eyes flow
on to your golden brown skin
supple, with a satin sheen.
With my fingers of silk
I gently caress the beauty
of your soul within
My name in love softly you whisper
as my heart
you set aquiver
I bless you my love
for all that you bequeath
to my life that came with your
bridal wreath

Fifty years of holding on
Hugging the grief within
Sorrows and secrets
of a life bygone
the heart turned to stone!
Spill it all out dear
It's time to let go
weep, let the tears flow
washing the grief away
rewarm the heart
to pick up the beats
and dance
to the joys of life again

When the neurons
process the vocabulary
acquired and integrates
integrity with observations and truisms
there emerges an algorithm
perfect in metre and in rhythm
creating a poetry contrived

When the neurons in tranquility
along with the heart engage
in emotions happy or sad
and reflect on nature with wonder
Or simply ponder
On the complexities of life
Or dreams asleep
Or awake immerses in the divine
There is a genesis from the soul
Of a kernel of truth and joy
designed to touch another soul
Thus is born a poem
that freely respires
ensuring a legacy
that truly inspires*!

Ultimately, in the end!

Misinterpretations of religions rend
Rather than mend
The fabric of social togetherness

Rites and rituals are just a way to appease
Not the Gods but the religion’s keepers
if you please

Lost is the essence of all religions true
as professed by
the possessed few

Science's chosen providence
Is to dissect the whole into pieces
In search for futile evidence

Arts bring pleasure
In glorious measure
To the artist and the art-lover

With views disparate
Hearts become desperate
Causing all to separate

Nature is a symbiotic symphony
teaching us
to coexist in harmony

Let literature and poetry
Paintings, pottery and culture
Be the unifier

Intellect is an instrument fine
But a heart’s insight is needed
To reach the soul divine
