Ciel Noir
maybe I am drawn to darkness
so that I can be a light

the small feather that tips the scales
between "I cannot" and "I might"

a strange encounter that resets you
just enough to stay and fight
for one more night

maybe enough time to decide
to stay alive

I know that door
I've been locked in before
but now I have the keys

I hope that I can help you heal
or keep you safe from harm at least

I wish that I could be that voice
that you could follow back to peace

I walk at night
carry my light
and call to you

come walk with me
going quiet sometimes, not knowing why.

being smaller with the year almost gone.

marvelling at the looseness of the rediscovered vest

forget the leg moisturiser,

therefore fail as a modern being.
Being lazy only pays the going rate
but once you get the go in you
there's nothing that you cannot do.

If
motivation's just a magic trick,
it's slick, but nonetheless
it's still a trick,

you have to pick your moments
to facilitate those movements
that you want to make
and
once you've made them
you're
on the way.
What can’t be forgiven
must be forgotten
Memory the catalyst
for sorrow and pain

The future endemic
its danger befalls us
Salvation escaping
—reluctant to change

Lead me away from this unfair realm
Beyond my stormy days and dark skies
Kiss me hard
Embrace me tight
Take me to the gracious place  where I found your heart
