Am I just a wheel?
Consuming meals?
A speck in blue sea?
Bound by what I see?
Life amongst trees?
Breathing means free?

Am I my beliefs?
The truth I seek?
Flag of a country?
Defined by currency?
A liability?
Part of society?

Am I what you see?
The way you judge me?
The values you pick?
First impressions stick?
Norm defined by you?
Do I dare to be rude?

No...

I am who I choose.
I fill my own shoes.
I win when I lose.
I create my own views.
I see black beyond blue.
I pick me over you.

Who are we?
I am me.
Who are we?
Depends on you.

It flies amongst the stars.
Flashes for a moment.
Despite the left scars.
Holds a place close, yet far.

It carries the fallen.
From mistaken paths.
To reaches impossible.
And develops new plans.

It creates new countries.
Raises dead soldiers.
Stamps unsung heroes.
With a feeling of free.

Hear its silent sound.
Open up your eyes.
Place it in your heart.
Elevate from the ground.

It helps us climb.
Better than rope.
Do you see its shape?
It is hope.

Push me away. That's what I need.

I'm fighting despair.
Is that something you see?

I wage war with myself;
scars here to stay

I suffer a loss with either choice made.

These words are becoming
my only release.
I ramble and rhyme to make agony cease

...a welcome distraction, ironically focused
On all of this pain that I want you to notice

But that's no solution. There isn't one.
I'm stuck in this nightmare.
Hope you're having fun

This one's for the kids
Who grew up alone.
Who raised themselves,
Lifted out of the slums.

This one's for the kids
With dirt under their nails.
Lungs filled with smog,
No belief in fairy tales.

This one's for the kids
With old shoes on their feet.
To avoid the glass,
And cracks in the street.

This one's for the kids
Who travel by train.
They've got the tunnels memorized,
Stored in their brains.

This one's for the kids
Who've smelled the smoke since birth.
Lungs turned dark
Black like the earth.

This one's for the kids
With nothing to lose.
Where they're going to go?
They haven't got a clue.

Cheers to the kids
Who grew up alone.
Who raised themselves,
Lifted out of the slums.

I'm waiting for you to be with me
Running high
Falling low
I can't let you go

A cold kiss
I miss the most
You left
I was sitting on the porch

Remember the morning sunrise glow
Birds singing
I didn't listen to a word

I miss you the most
A cold kiss
Lost in the snow

Tears turned into ice
Waiting for you outside

I would be lying
If I didn't want you back
