You came a calling
my gallant knight
Stars twinkling
The moon bright
On your sleek black stallion
you came to my door
My heart pounding
as you crossed the
floor
Sweeping me into your big strong arms
Filling me instant with a tranquil calm
Your lips full and tender
are upon mine
A kiss so sweet
simply devine
Gently you take me
by my hand
Through the bush
Moonbeams lighting the land
Stopping at the waters edge
We sit relaxed upon a ledge
There is wine and a platter
what a fabulous treat
Such a lucky maiden am I
to have a knight so sweet
Date nights with my husband
The sleek black stallion
was my husbands midnight blue RX7

My corral of words-like steads
open in morning
where wind blows
and sun shines.

In day, where filly's are jumping
inside mind and onto page.

And me the writer,
will mount the stallions
from morning till night.

Scribing, as a poem
becomes their hoof prints
left to remember.

You mumblers and raspers
Of resp'rat'ry rattle:
Open your throats!
Forsake ye! the gaspers,
You quoters of cattle
And prattle of goats!

Or lay ye with horses
Whose tongue ne'er divorces
Those ivory choppers,
Those sibilant stoppers;
You lispers: beware,
Whether stallion or mare,
While you nibble your oats!

Stop your speech-stumbling!
Go suckle an udder
You dizzy, damp calfs!
Restrain your talk-tumbling,
And swallow your stutter
Nor utter foul laughs!

You outspoken nags
Mimic bolt-broken stags
As you bleed allegations
Down paths of my patience
And clatter your antlers;
What heavy-hoofed ranters
For no one's behalf!
