I found something today, in an odd place

I stumbled upon it and it was all. Fragmented

Alone, pierced, and abused

I wasn't sure what it was at first, but upon looking closer I saw it
and barely recognized it

It was something I'd lost a long, long time ago

And here it was before my eyes: dead, broken, and hidden

Come a little closer then you  will see
Me
Broken and Beaten
Bruised and Defeated
That is me
Hurting on the inside
Happy on the out
His love for me is different
No one understands
The victim is me
Touched and Punched
That is all I have known
For I am
Broken and Beaten
Bruised and Defeated

I want to be wanted.
I want to be worth wanting.
To be desired, sought after, prized.
I want to be protected.
Not shielded, but jealously kept.
Not abused either... Just held.

I want someone to love me.
