He walked towards me, and I
grinned. He looked so alive in this
light. His hands reached out for me
and I evaded him, running into the
kitchen. We always played games
like this, a cat and mouse sort of
thing. He staggered in, his toothy
grin glaring up at me. I smiled and
waltzed around him, and he
followed, just like he always did. We
danced for a bit, before I wandered
over to him, smiling and looking into
his glassy, clouded eyes as I lifted
the hefty axe over my head and
hacked his decaying, undead head off.
You've tried a hundred times, I know,
But don't give up what you've begun;
It may be that what you seek will succeed
In try number a hundred and one.

Oh, Matchmaker, with hands of silver and gold,
help me wipe the tears as I watch this unfold.
Oh, Matchmaker, you've given me Midas Touch,
but this time the pain is just too much.
I can't take what I've done -
but I won't bring myself to blow out her sun.

Matchmaker, with warm words so sweet,
was your plan to find a heart to beat?
I am nothing but Grand Matchmaker's puppet -
nothing but a slave to play His trumpet.
He made me watch, with ankles chained,
as my heart burned 'til nothing remained.

Grand Matchmaker, why not match me?
You've given me no choice, but to beg on bent knee.
Something pretty I've seen, and it makes my heart ache
to stand by and watch - it makes my earth quake.
But Matchmaker is what matchmakers do.
So forever, forever, will my heart drown in blue.

100 Years to the day
We remember the hero’s
Who left behind a nation of widows
Their sacrifice such a price to pay

We sit behind our computers and judge
While the hero's dragged dead bodies through the sludge
The hero's faced the horror of the trenches
The hero's ghosts now reside on manorial benches

From the sky's on London to the battle of the Somme
The brave young hero's fought so very strong
We must not glorify war
But instead question what did the hero's die for?

War is still in the news
With so many more young lives still to loose
To this day war remains a constant threat
100 years on lest we forget
