Once there were two hearts,
peeking at each other,
smiling at each other,
admiring each other,
till they fell in love.

Once there were two hearts,
reaching out to each other,
coming closer to each other,
attaching to each other,
till only one was left.

I won’t lie and say it doesn't hurt
It’s been a few years
Life moves on
But some of us won’t or just can’t anymore

If I could
I’d go back in time to keep you safe
But I can’t
I want you alive but it’s impossible

After your death
friendships broke apart
tension rose
I started to fall as well

After your death
secrets came out
the light behind your eyes had fallen and risen

Even so, the cruel reminder is there
If you had lived,
we’d be seeing each other

As time passes,
We experienced many things
And as we grow older,
We will experience more
But you can’t

I miss you
I really do.
If only I had more time.

If only.

If.

Only.

This home is becoming
Like a weathermast of the soul
Beaten into responding silence.

To awaken here again
And to only wear this armour
As a riposte sufficient to self-assurance
And to rise, out of lazy eyelids and
Consider the opposing wind turrets
Laid as the proposition
All slack and starkly
Poised on the trapeze

The wallpaper durability of family headaches ;
The spurned lover's recurring luminosity
The marked and re-imagined lists
Detailing personal no-shows and defeats
Bookended by
The passing on of friendly eyes.

Assuming the universal, and in doing so, blindly holding out for the miracle :
For falling out of love is completely plausible
Whereas letting go of shame is mostly incomprehensible

You
You're like the smell before rain and the smell of fresh coffee grains.
Allow me to dance with your ventricles tonight but promise to not
call me insane. You're the emissary vein to my left right brain. Darling your the poet and the beat. Your what's making me stand
up on my feet. Your words make me sweat faster than summer's heat.
If I tell you I love you would you promise to play that melody for me once again the melody you said that rhythms with my heart's beat ~
