You're the rose that grew from my concrete
Why a rose?
What about a sunflower?
Roses show beauty; sunflowers show joy
You are inexhaustible joy
Roses are fragile; sunflowers are bold
Your boldness drips like honey from your lips
Roses are elegance; sunflowers radiate
You are exuberance
My light, My vitality, My sunflower

There she stands the willow
So calm and full of grace
Her twisted branches intertwine with outrageous strength
Her leaves tickle the wind with a divine grace
Her branches wave and say come rest with me
Just be she says just be
Her angelic spirit fills my thirsty soul

Her hair is black
Her shirt is purple
Her lips are pursed
Her eyes read confusion and frustration
However
I see your eyes they read hello
I see your arms they say why
I see your lips they seek answers
My soul thirsts for peace
Inshallah.

The flakes tingle my heart
The snowbank builds and I feel
frostbite
I'm used to the cold
Lets weather on

Tears of Grace

I pour it out to the least of these
Yet some see ******* as grace
I ask is it given or is it deserved
Grace is given
Grace is love
Love is deserved
