These are my people
This is my family
We sit around write words on paper
Speak fluent emotion
We automatically know one another
Despite just meeting each other
Paper binds us mentally
Vocally our words flow together
Like two rivers meeting at a bend
We are strange in the eyes of outsiders
But genius to each other
Our words moving one another
Shifting our views
Our voices chasing actions
We are a group of wonderful individuals
We are poets
And these are my people
This is my family

She loved to dance,
the music didn't matter much
It was the feeling,
freedom, surrendering,

I think it was a way of communicating for her
A switch of the hips,
tap of the foot or snap of the wrist
Illustrated her innermost feelings

I could never read dance
So for me it was only ever an obscure but intimate moment shared

Spoken words are my tools and I amplified my pointed but spinning feelings often and in person,

With no music playing, no time to reflect or poetry to serve as a conduit,
She would freeze and struggle in the immediacy of my spoken words,

These tools constructed small wonders leaving her still
For all the wrong reasons

Dissonance grew beneath the roof of these wonders
Breaching the walls,
always at nightfall,

We were slaves to our mediums
Our mediums enslaved us

She never knew the steps I was shuffling in were mimicking hers,
I didn't know the routine and her music muffled my words leaving them weak,

Hindsight, reason and honesty our last chance to dance and speak.

Daan
My body feels clammy and I feel
my fingers, ears and nose kneel
before the king of snow and cold.
I envy those who have someone to hold
when days are less long,
and I am less strong,
less capable of defending,
when she is ending
sanity
for me.
I think winter just dressed up as christmas and newyears
to cover up for being such a moodkill

(You knew it was coming, tv-shows warned you about this ;) )

Stumble forth on rubber legs
When drink perfumes your breath
Search the sky with bleary eyes
And salvage what is left:

Still breathing, speaking, seeing
Still marveling the stars
Still gagging out weak poetry
And tripping out of bars.

One foot before the other
Stagger, step and sway
The wind that croons soft music
Lulls the grief away

I like to think of me and you as
Two separate seasons
We can never be as one
Only slightly brush each other
One of us is ending
While the other is beginning

Crushing Love
Is it bad that I crave your touch?
Is it bad that I love it when you tease me?
Is it bad that I love it when you turn me on?
Is it bad that I feel like I'm in love?
Is it bad that I'm willing to defy everything my family said just to be with you?

Is it bad if tomorrow or tonight I say I love you.....
I just don't know what to do. I feel like I'm falling so hard for my boyfriend but I don't want to say I love you and him not feel the same way. If you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to message me personally or post on the poem.
