Every thing is better when I'm not around
A vice to keep you on the ground
A so called friend needed at a moments notice
In the long run what's the point of all this
Recognize the words of comfort
Say it again to keep me sure
My intentions were good but the time is all wrong
When you come singing that tune
I'll say it's the wrong song
You are an old habit
clinging to me,
like a child clings to a comfort blanket.
To elaborate, I need to cut the apron strings.
Discard you like a cigarette ****,
another old habit.
We've marred and scarred each other and called it:
Love.
We are nothing more than substance abuse,
for each other.
Habit formed, co dependent adults.
No twelve step program for us.
Just your charred remains, found
in our bed.
Our bed that justified our habit.

Why does
“good guy”
Have to rhyme with
“good bye”
You lack honestly
The mere bluntness I seek
Your shadowed emotions
Hidden, masked
Behind blurred,
Mixed signals

Submerged in frustration
Confusion
Trying to decode
Your thoughts
Your actions
Your words
Do they mean nothing?
Or is there something here?
A small spark to a flame
Growing at a brisk pace
Or perhaps its the end
The end of hope
My hope

You call me
Text me
Hug me
Even kiss me
You tell me how much I mean to you
How much you trust me
Then you stop

Not only do you lack honesty
But you are indecisive
Your emotions shadowed
Trapped, confined
Behind blurred,
Mixed Signals

— The End —
