You are the murmuring birds that grace my line of sight
Brown eyes that ease the night
The Spring lambs that warm my heart
Auburn silk tresses , blue forget- me -nots
You are the very instant the sun breaks the morning brume
The stained glass sky in my Autumn afternoon
My question , my seduction , my reason
My trail , my expression , my Summer season* ...

is this not a gift...
this the simple state of mind,
one which frames the past,
of all that's gone behind!
is this not the lens...
through which but few will see;
this the door to hope,
all but... invisibly!
a doorway scant will find,
for it hides within the shadows;
is shrouded in life’s mists,
and to e’en the mightiest foe,
this door is proven to resist.
yet those who find this state of mind,
these the few of simplicity’s kind,
prepared by life for another view,
these the ones who hold this truth;
for with a heart clothed,
with but a longing and a prayer,
an adornment of thankfulness,
this doorway to hope will appear;
as a lock that finds its key,
to the one who is clothed,
in an attitude’s raiment,
the door is already ajar;
and with only a nudge,
it will swing open wide,
beyond, to a pathway to love,
and the key to this future,
this doorway to hope...
this is gratitude’s garment!

there is no secret
to what opens this door;
a heart of gratitude is key.

The light shines down
On your pale face
And outlines your vulnerable lips
With a heavenly glow,
And bathes your pleading eyes
With pure light.

You look away,
Afraid,
Because you know that the light
Has always revealed your scars,
Your flaws,
Your imperfections.

But I simply laugh
And think
How lucky the sun is
To be so close to someone like you.

old poem, couldn't think of anything new to write.

i.

your love is like that
of romeo and juliet.
you fit perfectly,
like puzzle pieces,
and despite the raging seas,
you both man the sails
of your eager ship.

ii.

the night sky
is empty,
for all the stars are now in your eyes.
and you have all the blueprints planned out
as though you've forgotten that life
is not a house.

you keep on running,
as though you've forgotten that life
is not a track.

you keep on loving,
as though you've forgotten that life
spares no one

(not romeo, not juliet).

iii.**

and just like romeo,
and his dear juliet,
in the end,
you will both come crashing down.
