The Jews

I step obedient in the line
to the train waiting for us,
the Jews. We took what mattered
most. Children and old family and
we tucked small sacred into pockets.
Who'd do genocide in modern times?
I lost my family. I lost my mind.
I lived an afterlife, an abortion.
I'm of Irish descent and love the Jewish people I've ever known. We all suffered.

It's ok
We can rollerskate

Hold hands
Like old times
When we used to date

It's a different age
                        but
Love is the same
If we do it
It's ok

We can rollerskate

I can roll with you
While the music tunes
               Our harmony

We can take off our shoes
Put on some skates and cruise
Like we used to do
Back when we could
Love

And rollerskate

Through the whole summer
Down on the Huntington Beach Pier
Ocean breeze salt in our hair

We can rollerskate
Me and my date
It's ok
It's not a crime
To ******* some wheels
And glide

Away

The speed of the day
Burning in the rays
Of Southern Californ

IA

It's ok
We can rollerskate
After COVID-19
goes away

We can rollerskate
Hold hands
Touch face
Just like the old days

When we used to love
And kick off our shoes
You know what I'm sayin'
What we could do

Rollerskate

Me
&
You

And the whole world
We're on top of

It's ok to love

And hold hands

   And rollerskate

      It's ok
If we do it

everything in life is tech-ordered,
in this age of mega-multitasking,
the brain poorly functions, so in its defense,
the brain leans on learned reflexive behaviors

she, on the couch, cashmere blanket covered,
the Tv platform reconstituted as a drone,
a politician in front of a camera pontificating,
while she scans the Ipad, and both me and god,
don’t know what more she might need (to buy)

so when I stroke her legs, to give
added heat to her fiber-edged warming,
I do it more than once to test my theoretical,
she responds repeatical, unhesitatingly “hello my love”

after the fourth or sixth testing,
she looks up, ears perking, sensing,
knowing, something is afoot (a-legged?)
quizingly asking, “ok, what’s up?”

I smile, and explain most rationally,
that in furtherance of my current poem,
now underway, I was testing my leitmotif,
that even love benefits from proper training
<>
no, I will not show her this poem,
lest she show me in return,
her new self-improvement,
her recently-learned-at-home,
mindful, meditative training in

kickboxing skills.

Velvet eyes
Smooth drive
Me out

Of mind

My oh
My

She had honestly

Had she
Honesty

I believed

Her voice climbed
With a harps harmony
And she struck every string

Like she struck me

When my saxophone breathed
Like the winds trees
I heard timber

The curving flesh
Of my girl whispered
Believe

Velvet eyes
Smooth talk
Midnight jazz

The cats walked
While alley cried
Dark

Are you with me

My oh
My

Kissing
The light
Shined the moons
Eyes
Beamed

Driving me
Crazy

Velvet eyes
Creamy thighs
I'm out of my mind

My oh
My

The whiskey

Maybe i'm a fool
Foul
Forever

Baby I would do
For you
Worse or better

Shall I die
Without your eyes
In mine
Glittered

Shall I be the dunce
In the corner
Different

Maybe I'm a fool

Maybe I'm a

      Cold
C
O
L
D
     Cold

     Shiver

A flood
A storm
A raging river

I'd do anything for you
Baby I'm a fool
For you

Forever

I'm the dumbest dude
For you

Maybe I'm a fool
Or I'm the sharpest tool

Cutting

I'm not dull

But maybe
I am a fool

For you...

For
   You

I'm nothing

She kissed him
With magic of a magician

And he consumed her
As a potion from a sorcerers
Wisdom

They fell in love
And trusted the system

They held each other close
And would boast
How much they most

In love
Existed

She kissed him
And his frog turned
Into a Prince when

True love
Met them

A cloud of smoke
Appeared
After a few words spoke
A spell
Corrected the victim

When she kissed him
It was magically delicious

She was his lucky charm
And he was her wishes

After the kisses

Of the Princess

Of love

I made a mistake
I meant to be perfect

But I colored outside the lines
On purpose

I crossed the line
That meant to keep the lines inside

Because I'm not supposed to do it
