Mary Huxley
I carved your name in the stars, but the dawn stole their light.
I whispered your name to the moon, but it faded into the night.
So I etched your name in my soul, where time cannot erase,
A love so deep, eternal, in its quiet, sacred place.

If you return,
do not knock,
the door has memorized your hands.

If you leave,
do not turn back,
the wind carries only forward.

Whether a comma, or colon:
Punctuation slows my rolling
I need no period. When I end
no Capitalization when I begin
Rulelessly I flow my art
  Not a single!
Exclamation mark
Are you not the one
Who'll know?
Where a question mark
No longer goes

Warp the structure
Bend the lines
Put in repeat
Let emotion unwind
Make yourself
Your poetry's the best
Be your own ruler
Pass your own test

Take your own road
Where ever it leads
Lover or hater
It's all poetry!

Hay
No matter who you are
You have my deepest respect!

Vanity
All is vanity
The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression
The lines we draw and stay within
Even love is beyond intent
Vanity transcends
Flowing from our pens
And so we breathe again

now you and i are nothing,
which is at least something,
because they say nothing lasts forever.

and all i ever wanted was forever with you.
i gave you everything that i was but somehow i always seem to come up just a little too short every time. jml

And just like that,
     you came back.

As much as I wanted this,
  what if you leave again?

Summer rolls around,
and we treat ourselves better.
Full of old heat and dust,
finding jumbled numbers,
lost in our bedroom drawers,
interwoven through our fingers,
that were a year or so too late.

And now accepting the narrative,
that we control,
our own soft, rough hands,
that shape every new day.
Knowing that we deserve better,
than the one before.
