in Me you may have peace
though you may suffer
be courageous
for I
have conquered
the
world.

we have wandered to these parts
(yeah, 'these parts,' mim, that's what
we call that here in kansas
)
because you said this was the only
place the sky could almost touch you
if you stretched your fingers far enough.
when we reach the top of the hill
you climb up on a rock that seems
impossible, shout nasty words
because you don't think anyone can
hear you way up here. the sun
starts to slip toward the horizon
and you turn to me with a pink
reflection in your eyes, tell me to
reach my hands up until i can't
reach any further.
oh, this is a good one. you feel that? you feel that?
i look at you, your arms far above
your head and eyes closed, your
skin honey colored in this light.
*yeah. yeah i can.

Her eyes are a metaphor,
   a conceit, fantasy

No shakespearean sonnet
   even a lyric, will suffice
to describe the elegance she carries

Her smile, the greatest curve,
   all simile will be denied

Haikus and couplets
   even the long ones
   will not be enough

Her laughter is a song,
   a perfect harmony and melody

She is neither a hyperbole
   nor full of irony
   instead she is perfect rhyme

She is a walking poetry
   a personification of aesthetics

Almost an abstract
   unfathomable beauty
   out of the ordinary
So glad I'm able to write this one after a looonnngggg time.

Winter moon.
Above snow-covered trees.
A glowing sickle.
In the cold dark sky.
Lighting up the frozen black.
Of this New Year's night.
The Winter moon shining bright.
Casts a warm glow
upon the snow tonight.
Forget the freezing, icy road.
For just a moment.
And lift up your head.
Fix your gaze.
Upon the Winter moon.
Which God has made.
