i am a fence-sitter,
forever undecided
never satisfied
always at the edge

do i want to be at both sides of the fence?

i am putting my weight on one end of the plank
slowly inching closer to the other side
slowly chasing, careful to not tilt the balance

and so this act never-ends
a constant struggle to reach over
it's always greener

maybe all I want is to just be the fence

the less you care about it --

The twilight mist veils the world
As the graceful stars
Turn to faltering street lamps.

A constricted world,
Nothing lies beyond
My dwindling vision.

Are you happy
Now that the bird is caged?

do you ever just feel
inexplicably happy?
when you just love everyone
and nothing can go wrong

because i felt that way today
and let me tell you, dear reader
you are a loved and valued person
keep the good vibes flowing
and stay strong

i couldn't explain if i tried,

sometimes it's at fourteen,

or for a life time,

running out of places to hide.

when i said i was alright,

i was not,

every time.

My indifference drowns in your frost
ny sluggish departures  always quietly
my leaf falls heavily
I carve my name on your tree
I draw your picture on the water

my world was only you
