A spark to a flame
A seed to a flower
All thinks grow
As they do, they devour

A child devours knowledge
As a plant devours light
As a flame devours wood
And all put up a fight

A beautiful hunger
It rages and spreads
Then suddenly stops
All but dead

As a flame dies out
And a flower dies
A child loses interest
The whole world cries

For it has lost
A mind so bright
A mind so brilliant

So full of light
