You never had time for me
But you went to see him.

I called for weeks.
Hoping to see you,
Even if it was for a minute

But you said you were busy.
Had things to do.
Things that could not wait.
Things that were more important,
Than anything.

Imagine my disbelief.
When I saw you under that tree.
Holding his hand; smiling
Laughing, bearing all your teeth.
Touching his face, affectionately.
Leaning in, going for a kiss.
My God, I couldn't believe it.

I thought we had something.
I thought you said it was just me.
I thought you said I was your everything.

I'm not even mad or angry
I'm only sad,
You never looked at me.
The way you looked at him.
This is the first part of a two-parter, titled 'A Conversation Between Lovers'. Enjoy.
