I remember the day I met you
And you didn't even notice me staring
Then we began speaking
And each word that came out of your mouth
Was like music to my ears
That only I could hear

I could feel your eyes burning a hole in my neck
As you looked me up and down
Yet when I turned your way
You didn’t even acknowledge me

You made me so mad
When you ignored me when he was here
But you filled me with love
When he was nowhere

I loved you
For moments you created
Without even knowing

The way you pulled me closer
That night on the dance floor
As our fingers intertwined
And your breath warmed my neck

The way you payed attention to me
When we were alone
Treating me like the only one

The way your laugh
Turned all my problems into dust
As you looked me deep into my eyes

The way you spoke to me
About your future
And I was no part of it

The way you ripped my heart out
Without even knowing it
As you chose your friend over me that night

The way I had to be okay
With you leaving me
Alone
And sad

I couldn't hate you
Trust me I tried
I couldn't because you didn't even know
That what you did was so wrong

I hated you purely because
I love you
And you never loved me.
