If
I
Look
Like
I’m
Not
Worried
It’s because I’m not

I’ve learned to
Chase no one.
Chase nothing.
Force no one.
Force nothing.

Truth remains
You’ll rarely have to run after who/what’s meant for you.
Over silent waters
The swan is sliding
Nothing seems to be moving
Not even the waters
Soft whispering sounds
as the wind caresses the trees
Full of elegance  she is moving
to meet her mate.
To mate for life.

Swans ,What a beautiful sight
What elegant birds!
Ode to nature
Being 16 and free,
living on the sailboat
with my Dad and brother.
I was rocked to sleep
by the gentle
waves in the marina.
Just being...the wonderful
verb of youth,
Bills came in,
Dad would say, "They can **** us,
but they can't eat us."
We'd laugh and peel
up the Pacific coast Highway
to the track,
Hollywood Park or Santa Anita,
to bet on the horses.
We'd dope the racing form;
Get chili dogs.
Dad would give us
money to bet with.

I saw some of the
best horses ever:
Secretariat
Affirmed
John Henry
Bates Motel
We saw the greatest jockeys too.
William Shoemaker
Liffit Pincay
Eddie D.

Our tiny heroes.
The thunder of the
hooves coming down the
homestretch still echoes

inside of me.
Dad always said, "winners buy dinner, "
but he always paid.
We stopped at this
steak place on the
edge of L.A.
It was dark; they had the best
Fillet Mignon, you cut it
with a spoon.
The sun sank into the blazing
ocean, and with the windows rolled
down, we could taste the salt
in the air.

Feel like I'm floating. People talk but I don't really hear. Bought a cat cause I'm lonely but now I despise it because it needs.

Windows have frost, maybe vitamin deficient. Jack it to memories of a faceless  beauty on a night that cared so long ago.

But now I'm haunted. I'll see it soon. Just wish I could be alone; truly, truly, truly alone.  Where no light shines but withers

weather threatens everyday to engulf all that can be seen
here, on our small Isle, where sea and ocean overflow the coast road
strewn with seaweed and shells and gravel thrown from breaking waves that lick the fields beyond. To engulf but not overthrow our fragile stake within the maelstrom, the rock we shelter on, our home for the duration, lifespan of a creature in awe most days at the sheer magnificence of nature, this tiny creature who strives to be childlike and with that recognition the freedom it bestows in mind heart and soul
