Reciting a poem is like singing a song
but you're not judged on what notes you can reach
but on how your message
reach out to people

Black fine tip sharpie glides in perfect curve lines
Letting out a pungent smell
The ink stains my healing skin on my left wrist
as my right hand guides the weapon as if it were a razor
It used to be a razor
Dedicated to K.L.

When our hair turns gray
And our memories fade
When our bones get weak
And we lose our teeth
When our meds increase
And our hearings decrease
When everything else turns gray and old
I promise you, our love will stay safe and gold
Immortalized in this poem, my love
For the generations to unfold
