Sad.

It hurts seeing your eyes fading into black.
The darkest of color blurrin your burning pits of blues.
Red rim lashes,
And tears catching the glare.

It hurts.
But mostly it's saddening.

Now let the rain fall down
Just as my tears use to
And let the oceans rise
Wash away the thoughts of you

Take away the memories
Of all the things you said
Of all the things we did
Erase them from my head

As long as you're still here
I'll spend my sleepless nights
Plagued by the image of you
And all those senseless fights

Replace your velvet voice
With the thunder claps
And blind my sight to you
With the lightning flash

I'm moving on now
With the crashing waves
So let the waters flood
And send me to my grave
the motionless air hung heavy
with late summer heat
at a distance a woman's voice in song
the rich sound reaching for your heart
with feelings of life lived joyous and bold

i walk the sunsoaked road
to the farm field to find her
where the dusty faces of the pickers greet with smiles
their great baskets filled with the newly picked crop
its thick scent filling the air with intoxicating fresh natural beauty
**** and tangy ripe to the souls tastebuds
they gather round the water spigot
laughing and speaking
a family of strangers
come to harvest the land

they invite me to join them
for the midday meal
so i sit in the shade of a truck
sipping the cool clear waters
eating the thick rich bread and cheese
such people of the earth
their hands worn with its labor
their hearts alive with its loves
such kind souls of the land
sharing their moment with me

the meal done
the baskets for the picking ready once more
they wander back to the field
and she begins to sing once again
as the sweet summer sun lulls me to slumber
her voice a beautiful tapestry woven with her
love of her people and her life
a rich tender sound
she carried me into sweet deep dreams
of the kindness of people who harvest
with their hands and hearts
the bounty's of the earth
(migrant farmers on the sun coast)
Close your eyes and stretch your palm
I tell her.

She doubts my intention.

don’t worry dear
have no fear
I mean no harm

And as she spreads her palm
I place three coins.

She looks askance.

one for your love
one for your trust
one for ever being by my side*
I tell her.

I can go any far to tease her!

Yes, we shall walk amongst fallen leaves
And acorns scattered in the woods
We'll sip iced-tea on the porch
And Coca-Cola in the shade
We'll step over mushrooms
Of a creamy, ivory hue
We'll hold hands when we take walks
In the meadows of lush green
Everything will be happy
My dear one, have no fear
For this is our wish
For each other
Just to live in harmony
Maybe to sit and relax
On the old wooden porch swing
Or curl up on the hammock
Just for an afternoon nap
I'll pick some daffodils and irises
And even make you a daisy chain
And necklaces made of dandelions
That look like pure golden sunshine
We'll go to the creek
Hidden amongst thick, dense forest trees
We'll sit on the big, rocky boulders
Or wade in the cool water
In the evenings
Inside our old-fashioned dream home
We'll gather together in the parlor
Just all three of us
And write poetry by the fireside
Everything's quiet
Except for the ticking of clocks
And the crackle of flames
From our grand old fireplace
So, we'll keep on wishing, mother dear
Our wish for each other
Maybe some day soon--
Some happy day
Our wish will come true
