Crow

Outside my door a cawing crow
of blackened wings and indigo
delivered by night's shivering storm.
The wind and winter's howling call,
scattered nests and down the feather falls.
Crack of limbs, cold and bare branched
mesquite leaves and needles spiral to the ground.
In a swooping field he flies into the tallest pines
deep and slow, the trees creak
wild in cello tones.
i dream of the sea,
whispering like a wild cloud,
stretching the blue air.
where night is black opals
before the storm.

out of the flames,
pheonix bright,
our love,
reawoken,
tender and ageless,
*****-faced like
a jaguar of the night,
purple, blue and yellow
the bloodless fire,
and somewhere in
the hurt and the pain
the ghosts like an
old sinatra song
sing their melodies
in the sad summer hours.
i don't think i'll
ever feel so bruised
or so dark, our love
out of those blue-ghost
flames.
now dedicated to the young people who died in the terror attack in manchester. our hearts go out to their families and friends.
At last,
Realization came to him
A sudden blast
Enlighten what's dim

Now, he knows what to do
Must forgive and forget
Truth must not skew
Else a ton of regret

What happened
He never thinks of such wisdom before
Because the pure white he used to blacken
He enjoyed the face of others down on the floor

Now he feels lighter
Ready to seeds good deeds
A color of cotton or even whiter
Will response help to those in needs

No more heavy metal song
Just soft and sentimental one
It's time to correct what's wrong
To hear the words "Well done"

He saw a man fall down
The song he sang is fresh
Suddenly he realized the sound
That he was no more in the flesh...

With rod and reel and bait in hand
They set out from dry dusty land
Six pretend pirate wanna be's
To terrorize fish repeatedly

Three each, port and starboard side
Anticipating the coming tide
Far away from safety's shore
These men of action, these men of lore

Swinging wide they toss their lines
As seconds tick off fishes bites
What's meant to be has come to be
From this scourge of the high seas

They came they saw they conquered all
As waves pound hard upon the bow
Call it a hunch, the weakest of the bunch
Didn't miss the chance to toss his lunch

After the score these troubadours
Made their way back to distant shores
Six pretend pirate wanna be's
Where legends are made on the high seas
Went deep sea fishing yesterday and had a blast! Who tossed their lunch? Do you really need to ask?

Waking in my room -
pause and consider; should I
leave the house today?

Nobody would care.
Nobody else at home. I've
no good reason to.

It's safe in here. I
have my bed, my piano,
things to distract me.

It's a rare day that
I want to leave the house. There's
none to judge me here.

Alone in my room,
breeze arousing my curtains,
but I'm not lonely.

This is the place where
I feel more comfortable
than anywhere else.

So maybe I'll just
stay at home, write a poem
or song. And just be.

Friends

Tom and Jerry, Laurel and Hardy,
Batman and Robin, Fred and Barney,
Frodo and Sam, Bert and Ernie too,
Tom Sawyer and Huck, adventures anew.

Lone Ranger and Tonto, Snowy and Tintin,
Chip and Dale, Snoopy and Woodstock grin,
Archie and Jughead, Holmes and Watson wise,
Lucy and Ethel, their antics arise.

Larry, Curly, and Moe, a comical trio,
Mutt and Jeff, Luke and Han Solo,
Lois and Clark, a super pair indeed,
These bonds of friendship, on screen we read.

But as the credits roll and the pages close,
A question lingers, as doubt grows:
Are these friendships, so perfect and true,
Reflections of bonds between me and you?

Real friendships are messy, they ebb and flow,
Not always in sync, not always aglow.
Yet in their imperfection, we find
A beauty that's real, one of a kind.

So cherish your friends, both near and far,
For in life's story, that's who you are.
Fiction may inspire, but reality's test
Proves true friendship is earth's real quest.
