On Sunday mornings,
my father likes to leave for
church before he can see me
just getting home.
Cigarettes in the back pocket
of yesterday's jeans and another
strangers' fingerprints littered
across my body.
Do you pray for my soul, father?
While you're on your knees
at the pew, do you think about
the tears in the knees of my jeans?
Do you ask God why he has
burdened you with a
daughter like me?
The blank pages of the bible
you clutch will not save you
and my Holy Water cocktail
will not save me.
Metrical raindrops stream down my favorite
window ..
Cool , tidy , poetic gray cover shadowing the busy unkempt
world ...
Fussy Cardinals come clean in the channel
Pollen , pine needles and mans debris
collect on the washed avenues ..
Courthouse bells relay over the wet countryside ,
timid brooks become rivers for a day ..

My greatest wish is to write soul ****,
To be a soul **** star
To take your soul and make it feel,
Like it never has by far
I want my soul ****,
To be so very *******
That everyday you're on your knees,
Begging to read more
I wish to give your soul a *****,
Or make it really wet
So that when you read my words,
You won't have any regrets
I wish to be a soul **** star,
And write the loveliest writes
So that when you go to sleep,
You dream of them every night
I want to touch your soul,
Flat out make it ***
So that all of my written soul ****,
Beats in your heart like a drum
Men, I hope you think of my soul ****,
As a large pair of breast
That are so amazingly hot,
That they won't let you rest
Ladies, for you I want my soul ****,
To be compared to that guy
The one who loves you dearly,
And never leaves you to cry
Yes, I want to write soul ****,
To be a soul **** *****
I wish to make your soul feel,
Like it never has before
Discerning life within the trees
Images in pools of rainwater ,
streams of pertinent discourse
and fluid continuity ...

I'm sorry that
I do not come with a manual,
a warning.
All I've got is the
"Handle With Care"
stamp, marked on my forehead.
Please forgive me for I tend
to malfunction from
time to time.
I wish it was easy.
When I get so sad that
I cannot leave my bed,
turn to page 37, section B
for care instructions.
But loving me
is not that simple.
I ask that you
proceed with caution,
some parts of me
are still being repaired.

dania
so you put your face close up to mine before
your eyes flashed a little wide
before you said hey let's go inside before you said
hey it's warmer in here before you said
why don't you have a beer
before you said all of this
your eyes flashed a little wide.
so i guess that's when i should've known.
but as i felt my hand grip over my phone
i realized how badly i had to be done with the trust games
you said i knew so much better than to trust old flames
and you're a new thing. up and away
cupid's a shooter till this very day
and you were excited for me to
learn what would happen if i did it your way

you were excited for me
to finally see what was on the other side of this kind of fear.
so i let you be and i let me be too until my
fingers loosen and i don't even have my
thumb on speed dial anymore when our eyes finally lock again.
somehow i just
know this is a bad idea but at the same time it feels like
something i should've done a long time ago.
