Wine flows,
cheese is sliced,
Hams and pâté grace the board,
Cards fan in warm hands.
Records spin, voices collide—
Sunday’s hearth,
food, and hearts burn.

Bipolar, they called it,
the tide within me,
Rising, falling,
a moonlit frenzy.
You, with your papers and promises made,
Couldn’t meet the storm;
your respect decayed,
And I, adrift,
watched the world betray me.
Evening sky reflects
on the glass lake.
The soldier of a
tree carries on
through the lonesome
night.
If we could only
see the dreams of
the fish,
far from the
frying pan.

The tower penetrates
the puffy pink
clouds, and the
horizon squirts
sweet rain.
My face gets
sticky.
She is the sky.

"why are you always bleeding?"

"Did you get in to a fight?"

"Who did this to you?"

"What happened?"

"Are you okay?"

I want to say:
"Dermatoliomania"

But I say
"Nothing
I'm okay"

They don't need to worry about me
I'm almost decent as can be...
Sometimes
For those who don't know it's a skin picking disorder. And no, I can't "just stop".

(This note was written by a laughing trombone because he's done crying)
Dance with me
my darling
upon the balcony
in the moonlight
cheek-to-cheek

We can whisper about
the shrouded past with smiles
and promise each other
all sorts of pleasures
one last time

Just close your eyes
my love
ignore the sound
of the wrecking ball
and i will hold you tight

even if for only a moment longer...
