Eyelids flicker, close again.
Then slowly part allowing focus.
The morning welcomes sleepy eyes
and a window beckons.
Light streams through
and the view is of Spring.

The sun up in the sky
brilliant and ablaze with life.
From one horizon to another
clear blue light hangs,
lazily draping the world
and not a vapour trail in sight.

Silence is no longer a pause
between bursts of open noise,
rather, noise is an intruder
hectoring the moments of peace.
Until the sleep dirt clears
and the chorus of birds singing
is in harmony with serenity,
complimenting the absence of sound.

Different light in hidden places
shine a hue of emerald green,
flecked with orange and yellow,
single rays of playful sunshine.
The streams of brilliance persist
like the radiance of a palette,
if the painter is Mother Nature
and the picture is crystal clear.

And sleep though only minutes gone
is a forgotten rest memory.
The dreams faded and passed on,
given free, as a gift to the night.

Be the hope, be the cure
Be the kindly spoken word
Be the one less to be heard
Be the one that listens more

Be the holder of the key
Be the one that lets it be
When advice is given free
Tread with that advice lightly

Be the yes in answering
Be the first in line to sing
Say and do all that you mean
Be a servant to the King

Be a comfort to the soul
A help to those who need it most
Praise them high while staying low
No one likes a know-it-all

Be the breath that's always fresh
Be the last one that is left
To those in need, a helping hand
Be the one that says you can

Be the light that's in the dark
Be the changing of the guard
Be the tiniest of sparks
Be exactly who you are

From this moment
Let the panic decrease
Let the positivity shine
Let go of the negativity
Embrace family time
Take in these moments
Take a step back and listen
Notice the little things we’ve been missing
Smell the fresh air
Relax and unwind
Keep praying for all of mankind
From this moment on...

We were on the bubble;
Now we're in the bubble.
No ****** please.

I sneezed into my elbow
At the grocery store;
All who were present turned,
Gasped and hit the floor,
As though I'd shot a gun.

I coughed in my elbow
While I was walking home;
The sidewalk cleared across the street,
As though I'd dropped a bomb.

While I was at my bank,
Four masked men pushed through the door.
No one notices anymore.
