She is looked at not as an object,
Not at all a means to please him,
But as the life producing mother.

She has faced no physical abuse,
Not any sort of emotional either,
But respected if not worshipped.

She looks happily in the mirror,
Not to find her mascara ruined,
But admires it & longs for tears.

She stands as equals with them,
Not as assistant but participant,
But equally women & men live.

She also eats dinner at the table,
Not just serving them everyday,
But also relishing food he cooks.

She shares a new equal dignity,
Not fearing any ****** or teaser,
But cared for who she is to him.

She is content with spirituality,
Not praying only the male God,
But also aware of His Mother...

she hides behind a layer of skin
covers her like a mask
doesn't want to let any one in
things can't go to fast
she was the girl who often sinned
just another outcast
hiding behind that layer of skin
that covered her like a mask

Another World

My dream of another world is not dead, yet
The blood in my veins is flowing, ever so red
Beaten, burnt, molested, abused,
but not defeated.
My soul is revived by each tear I shed
Tears are my message of defiance
and my heart beats, ever so violently
in struggle for the other world
I still think, the other world
can be...shall be..
To all women...

Spring's first rays of sun
Fire on a cold winter's day
Summer's ocean breeze
Full moon in a clear night sky
Natural wonders
Glimpses of heaven on earth
Include your quiet glances

A Choka- From 14

i used to cradle her bleach-cracked hands in mine
and decode the stardust resting within her fingerprints
up until the day that i lost touch with the art of reading braille
and she stopped slinging tall-tales for me to fetch
and rest the plot-twist at her feet

often in the post-script
i'd find my train of thought highjacked by the sunlight illuminating the rainbow of earth-tones ablaze
in her frizz-ridden curls
as if she'd been washing her hair with the damaged case of beer
she'd gotten for half-price at liqour depot
     she never did quit drinking
          but neither did i

at least we tried

though sometimes
in the middle of the night when nothing was alright
and we'd barely survived another fight
her face would catch my glance
cast aglow by a flood of lava-lamp light

the sea of freckles resting at the crest of her cheeks
rose lips perma-pursed in half tilt
her resting heart-rate so high that i could almost see it
          pirouetting within her chest

it was then that i'd love her best
amidst the ruins of who we were
     just moments before
a love poem, for the girl i can sometimes spot in my reflection.

In a world where creativity is put first

no ranks

no grades

because how can you judge a human race

on if they made a certain grade

when we cannot even explain

the trueness of the big bang

oh, intelligence is fine

but I think it's not right

since we all come from a different whom

and are still expected to be advanced at school

school should become extinct

we have our brains still to think

no test is bigger than life

so maybe we should start *studying

Eyes emerald green and turquoise blue

Cotton soft, snowy hue

Velvet, velvet, cotton clouds

Steel and razors, shredded shrouds

Warm and gentle, purring, soft

Running, bolting, taking off

Hiss and scream, grow with fright

Teeth of ivory, day is night

Hunt and blood, running in willows

Sleep and purr in blankets and pillows

Whirling, twirling, spitting, springing

Evelyn / Evil always being

The good /bad cat that you are
A children's poem I wrote for the kids. Evelyn had one green eye and one blue one. The green one was the evil one

Destroyer of dreams
Leave my side so hope remains
Move on to the next
Oblivious in their bliss
Perhaps they shant see dreams die

Pushing Daisies
Don't worry darling,
When I push you away,
I promise,
You won't feel a thing.

I'll be the one,
To burn in the fire,
The smoke,
Causing my eyes to sting.

I know it's for the better,
I'm a burden,
Don't you see?

I promise I won't blame you,

Who would want to be around me?
I promise I won't blame you,
I don't have the guts to leave.
