weak-kneed,
heavy-eyed,
stumbling

I push through the thicket
to the patch of land
where the air is thick
with burnt pine and turmeric
to where the moon sets
spry on the water

I take my legs
and offer them to the strait
my plunge
into the euripus

what use are they
if not to walk
to the nape of hope's neck?

well, then
it is this
I am whelmed
carried off by the cold swell
of adam's ale

then, somewhere
along the river
and its rushing stupor

I hear singing
a voice that rings like clinkstone
and the ecclesiast begins to pull me
a quiet accompaniment
careful quiet, in the night –
such is thievery

subtle, without much grief
take me

for whatever gold I am
whatever glimmer that I could give
burnished of whatever sin

Ever since I discovered poetry,
I discovered the blessing of being born into poverty: My life, my struggle, my hustle, my journey is the bedrock of my strength. My story is the source of my inspiration and the caveat of my staying power.

Ever since I discovered poetry,
I discovered the mysterious ways in which God's gift to every man is dissimilated.Look at the athletic abilities of Lebron James when he plays basketball, see the prophetic gift of Bishop T D Jakes when he preaches.Look at the artistic brilliance of the jazziest, George Benson when he sings and plays guitar. And, no one alive will ever forget the musical genius of Michael Jackson and the poetic prowess of Maya Angelou.

Ever since I discovered poetry,
I discovered how God uses the foolishness of man to confirm his greatness.Every time I write a masterpiece, somebody somewhere reads it and goes" ***, Wow, this is really good!"

Ever since I discovered poetry,
I discovered that God is the greatest of all poets. From Genesis to Revelation, His words
Compiled into sixty-six meticulously written books remains the bestseller of all times.

Ever since I discovered poetry
I discovered that God is love and love is blind and blindness is nothing because God blessed the blind with hidden eyes in the mind.
I discovered God gave the blind something because of the legendary Steven Wonder and the little blind Liberian boy, Samy Wefur who now sings with the Nigerian star,Flavour.

My life has been turned upside down!
It's like I never had depression to begin with.
Please, if you are struggling with depression, anxiety and thoughts of suicide and feel like there is no way out...seek help...it's totally worth it.
I used to be against medication but I had a chemical issue in my brain and I was going to end my life. I told myself this was my last resort and if it didn't work I was going to die.
I am so glad I seeked help.
There is hope.

you are the draft
of my poetries
that I have kept hidden.
you've taught me how to render
all these feelings to be unspoken.

you are the song
by which the octave
of my voice can't reach;
and yet I still try to sing you in secrecy.

you are the art
that my simple mind
can't seem to understand
but it's okay, because I feel you
and that's what gives these emotions
an infinite ampersand.

you are all these,
and yet to me, you are still nothing.
because in this life, that is all we are, and is all what we are ever going to be: nothing.
and I - although it hurts, have learned the hard way on how to accept that.

The path from Tauts-to-talks
are paved with food intentions
Four -piece meal for peace has
nothing to see here, you scab
Chilli crab - ain't your usual crap
are good gut check with no mishap
Bourbon and Sujo cocktail blend
beats sermon anytime, we'll show you
Summitwich - both sides have agreed
on buttermilk chicken and kimchi
Don you miss it, is Un-believable!
gimmickers seal it with their kisses
oh, and don't forget from the host too
Pandan cake to pudding on the table
no details are too minutiae, they're able
those circling the summit must march
to disarm the hunger and overcome pride
of King-me Dotard and Lil'Rocket Man
Now that's plenty to deal with it, so get real.

No one else, but a poet...can bring colors
to scenes...with verses, in crass or subtle
tones......gather words together in lines,
uncertain in their ebbing and flowing...
the results create surprise in many
hues that could make one cry,
grimace......frown......or smile

readers are led to far, or near
destinations...to the cool, sweet air
and peaceful atmosphere of paradise,
or, to unlit corners...uncharted waters,
or deep into an abyss...or, a black hole,
an unknown corner, where moribund souls
are biding their time, maybe, they could
now define by themselves, purgatory and hell,
understand those sunken souls who have lost
all...except their arms, and begging eyes...
then, through appropriate words,
a poet paints a laborious path, or
a stairway...so an enlightened reader
may climb back to safe, calm waters...

a poet makes the mind see a human heart,
beating in many rhythms...throbbing,
.......aflame with longing and desire,
bursting from ecstatic, sublime moments,
then, later on,  shift to grayish thoughts
that cut deep....tormenting...crashing,
............gnashing the heart...
a poet paints a soul walking on cloud nine,
later, to dip feet in celebrative pools.

sometimes, a poet would rather not, yet,
an inner force prevails, thereby paints a
drooping soul...dying, in total surrender,
ready to fall..............but, again, with a
barrel of lively-colored words,  a poet
takes this despondent soul to berth,
with soothing verses, bring it to a rebirth...
every human being is worth an effort
..............even those that have fallen
.........................are worth savin' .....

a poet's palette is uniquely
enriched with colorful experiences,
a poet paints life in its truest colors,
..........could be dark...or bright
.....nothing more......nothing less...
