Happy are so many memories...
But better still is the instance from which they are born.
It was the being there... the who, the what, the where... memory... the photograph of something that we wish could live forever.

O sweet spontaneous
earth how often have
the
doting

            fingers of
prurient philosophers pinched
and
poked

thee
,has the naughty thumb
of science prodded
thy

      beauty       .how
often have religions taken
thee upon their scraggy knees
squeezing and

buffeting thee that thou mightest conceive
gods
        (but
true

to the incomparable
couch of death thy
rhythmic
lover

          thou answerest

them only with

                          spring)

you know it hurts,
{like gut-wrenching, ab-clenching, breath lynching hurt}
when you sit in the shower and silently sob.
tears melt with water
steam clouds your sight
gaze up, let it fill your nostrils
drown in water and your plight

I call out to you
But no answer
I don’t understand
Because it’s all about Jesus

Your promises are so true
Now seem gone
You are faithful
It is all about Jesus

I have no strength left
Where to go
I am lost
Because it’s all about Jesus

My soul cries out loudly
In the darkness
Where are you
It is all about Jesus

No answer none at all
I am alone
Blinded by sufferings
Because it’s all about Jesus

The silence is audibly quiet
My faith sobs
What is happening
It is all about Jesus

I am utterly broken inside
No feelings anymore
Bleeding many tears
Because it’s all about Jesus

Finding no help in anything
Clutching at straws
Slipping quietly away
It is all about Jesus

Because it’s all about Jesus
It is all about Jesus
Because it’s all about Jesus
It is all about JesusI call out to you
But no answer
I don’t understand
Because it’s all about Jesus

I’ve been trying for so long to be the poet
When all I’ve wanted is to be the poem

Deep calls to deep
Feet walking to the steep
With the roar of Your waterfalls
Unlike before I’m on the tall part
All Your waves and breakers
Pavement of the Maker
Have swept over me
And met me gladly
I made a poem around Psalm 42:7 before, and it was more doubtful. I called it “the fall”. Over a year later, I’ve come through many “other sides”. Some other sides were through darker areas, but it’s made me stronger in my faith.

quiet down now, 'cloud whisperer',
don't you know these fits fade fast
don't you know these delusions of power simply will not last?
the sky does as she pleases
the sun shines as he may
all the pleading,
all the crying,
won't matter anyway.

sorry to say, 'cloud whisperer',
you know your magic isn't real
you know that all that's come and gone will do so as it feels.
the here and now will slip away,
and tomorrow's coming quick
all the wishing,
all the whining,
won't change all life's fun twists.

so quit your rain dance,
put down your spells,
and stop your silly chants.
take a breath and feel the drops,
learn to love this cruel romance.
