Opened my eyes
To awake within my dreams
Where I walk the line
Between chaos and peace

I look to the sky
To sigh in relief
At the sweet somber scene

Almost too intoxicating
One deep breath
Fills my fantasy's
With hues of gray, gold,
And green

The entrancing sky's

The soul behind your beautiful eyes

And my favorite color
To catch me by surprise

What an intoxicating fallacy
Is perceived immortality.
The belief of ones vitality
Will be one's true, final fatality.

That fleeting moment
of divine inspiration
floats like a leaf
on a warm Autumn day
Gather it quickly
and pull it close to your heart
before a cold wind
comes and blows it away

Nothing to hand out
left empty and dry
the drought of life has set in
the crops--how they die!

Whatever that's planted
has brought but despair and sigh
supplication shall not be answered
as the locusts in droves fly by.
